I am a divorced mother of two adult children with one grandchild. I am a full time college instructor so learning is important to me. It is time for mommy to have some fun! I live in Illinois and this winter weather is not agreeing with my body. I will celebrate 5 years of being cancer free in April. It was in my thyroid and it was caught early.
I was born in 1957 but am a child of the 70's. I love that era of music along with many songs from the 80's. I follow a local band and let my hair down dancing to oldies from Fleetwood Mac, Heart and Boz Scaggs.
I am a hopeless romantic but like a good suspense as well. My latest collection includes biographies about the Kennedy family and Princess Diana.
Steel Magnolias, Terms of Endearment, Bridesmaids, Apollo 13, Tombstone, Kiss the Girls, Double Jeopardy, Brubaker, Tangled
Since my divorce, I don't have cable so there hasn't been a television channel on in my house for 2 years. I have survived!
I do like criminal shows that allow me to follow the case and learn from the detectives whether reality based or fictional. I teach a law and ethics class so the shows make for good discussion material.
I have quite a collection of craft items just waiting to be used. Now that my nest is empty, I hope to spend more time being creative.
I love Hello Kitty and wolves; opposite ends of the spectrum I know! My Siberian husky and my solid white cat will never live in perfect harmony but I can dream. I love Rudolph, snow flakes, butterflies, primitive decor, old jewelry, unique buttons, stars & stripes and beautiful cut glass objects.
I prefer silver to gold, red & black, deep purple, royal blue, and brown as compared to pinks, yellows, or pastels. I am not much of a big flowery pattern person.
I want to learn to crochet and quilt. I am beginning to scrapbook and make cards. I am looking forward to the swaps as it helps me learn about all the crafting products available. Who knew washi tape could be so much fun?!

Carol Fremaux, you've been removed from Newbie Helpers due to your unsent swaps. I hope you will return to make things right with your disappointed partners.
