I enjoy cross stitching, crocheting, knitting, and sewing/quilting. What I like the best about doing these is creating items for charity or for my family.. I participate in Project Linus who gives blankets to children from birth to age 18 who are suffering some kind of trauma. It is a great way to try out new techniques and still make something useful for someone. I also make greeting cards to send to my friends from swap-bot, #Litsylove, church, family and everyone.
I am technically a retired church musician - I play piano. I only play one Mass every other week now along with some funerals. My taste in music is very eclectic. I reserve my judgment on a style of music or a specific selection until I have heard it. i love to hear and play with violins. They are my favorite.
I enjoy reading very much. I like epic stories, historical fiction, classics, fairytale re-tellings, clean romance, mystery, a little fantasy and young adult books.
So far this year, I have read 133 books! Since lockdown I have been able to read at least 10 books a month. Who knew?
I like to do reading challenges, but only to challenge myself - I rarely sign-up for prizes or anything.
I have watched all 22 Marvel movies with my family. My favorite characters are Captain America, Thor, Spiderman, and the Black Panther.
I like romantic comedies, biographies or movies about events in history, movies based on books, period films, mysteries and Disney movies.
I watch television shows on Netflix or Amazon Prime and very seldom on TV. As a matter of fact, we recently gave up our cable TV service and went back to using an antenna. It works for us.
I like epic family dramas. I watched every episode of "McLeod's Daughters" on Amazon. It is set in Australia on a cattle ranch run by women. It was quite good. I also like "Heartland" that is set in Canada, "Derry Girls" set in Ireland, "Offspring" set in Australia, and "Cable Girls" set in Spain. I also like "Outlander", "Poldark", "When Calls the Heart", "Mozart in the Jungle", "Jane the Virgin", Victoria", "Northern Rescue","The Crown" and "Private Practice." I also just finished all 363 episodes of Grey's Anatomy in 77 days - it was epic! Now I'm on to Station 19.
Every once in a while I watch a series in a different language than English. I have watched "The Grand Hotel," "The Time Between", "Cable Girls," and "Velvet" in Spanish and "Seyit and Sula" in Turkish - with subtitles, of course.
I started the Ideal Protein diet program in August 2021. Please don't send me food until further notice. I cannot eat anything that isn't part of the Ideal protein protocol.
I like most teas. My favorites are Constant Comment, Plantation Mint, Orange and Spice, Salted Caramel, Pomegranate, Apple & Cinnamon, Raspberry Zinger, but I will try most anything.
Likes: bookish stickers, postcards or washi tape; stickers with flowers, cute animals, quotes music stickers, interesting postcards even touristy ones, stationery
I will most likely love anything you send me. I love getting mail and I am so impressed by the creativity of folks on this site!
Dislikes:
I don't want to receive anything involving nudity or with some sexual suggestion. I also dislike things that are dark and frightening. No horror items or anything that smells of smoke.
Thanks for reading to the end of my profile! Happy Swapping!

Hi, Sharen, I literally just finished reading 'The Midnight Fox' by Betsy Byars, and "Eve of the Emperor Penguin - Magic Tree House #41' by Mary Pope Osborne this afternoon. I loved 'The Midnight Fox' and highly recommend it. I am also reading 'Miss Pickerell Goes to the Moon', by Ellen MacGregor and Dara Pantell. I have always loved these books. Found this one at a Little Free Library recently, and decided to read it. And I am reading "The Voyage of the Dawn Treader" by C.S. Lewis. My favorite book in the Narnia series. I am only allowing myself to read a few pages a day of it, as I want to make it last most of the summer. I love to pretend like I am sailing along with the characters. I also like to eat what they eat in the book. It is such fun.

Hi hi Sharen!
I'm currently reading:
Sensible Footwear: A Girl's Guide by Kate Charlesworth. I'm really loving it at the moment. A bit slow with it because of assessments, but what I've read so far has been good. I love the visuals too.
Break the Fall by Jennifer Iacopelli. I've not read much of this, only a chapter, but what I have read is really good! I'm just super into sporty ya stuff at the moment, which is funny because I have always lacked the coordination to be sporty.
Nimona by Noelle Stevenson. Rereading this graphic novel again because it's stunning and I need more of Stevenson's works in my life.
...and there are a few others but I hope this will suffice for now.
Have a great day!

I enjoy many different pies, but my favorite has always been walnut pie. My mom and I would gather walnuts from my grandfather's tree and I would help to crack them. It is made the same as pecan pie, but uses walnuts instead of pecans.
I am so hungry for pie after searching images! Thinking chocolate or coconut pie as those are my favs.
Welcome to Pennsylvania Swappers! It's great to have you here!
Blessings,
Yvonne
