I like on a farm in Iowa and am married to a veterinarian. We live in the country overlooking our 4 acre farm pond. We have a herd of Buelingto CattIe and a Bichon named Rocky. We have two children, a son who is 37 and a daughter 35 who is also a veterinarian as is her husband. We all attended Iowa State University where they all graduated from the vet school there. I work part time for my husband and spend the rest of the time caring for my 91 year old mother. I just discovered the world of swapping and ATC's. I have been a scrapper for years, grew up with a very camera conscious father who took volumes of pictures, developed and printed his own film and pictures. We have hundreds of scarpbooks in our house. I LOVE paper and have filing cabinets full of it. I hate cutting into a full sheet so I seem to try to limit my use to just scraps which I save. I also inherited quite a bit of vintage ephemera which I have just started using in collage and other crafts.
I am facing knee replacement in two weeks. I am looking forward to being able to walk without pain and maybe do some traveling again. I am old enough to be a grandma but waiting patiently for that first grandchild to come along. Paper crafting seems to be what I turn to to fill the void. I love the videos of projects as they provide me with inspiration. I eagerly look forward to my first swap.
My other hobby is reading. I belong to a book club with seven other women. We meet monthly and read a variety of books. My favorite book of all time is To Kill a Mockingbird. I first read it when I was in junior high. I also love the new book The Help. I have so many favorites I can't list them all. I love to read Non-Fiction.
I also belong to a wine club that meets monthly also.
I love classical music and music from Broadway musicals. I have been lucky enough to have seen several on Broadway with our daughter. My favorite it Wicked. It is amazing.
Love old movies. Gone With the Wind is tops on the list. My movie going goes is spurts as I am not into most of the new movies being produced today. I did like The Help but it is far from being as good as the book. I loved Sense and Sensibility and Pride and Prejudice. They are the ultimate chick flicks and I watch them over and over if I am bored.
I love Glee, Revenge, Dancing With the Stars, Antique Roadshow, and watching BB and Football on TV. And I am a Huge fan of Downton Abbey.
As I said I am into paper. Because of Pinterest I discovered Project Life which I started in January. It satisfies my picture taking gene. I also discovered Junque Journals which I have just completed my first. I have a Smash book and am working on a vintage collage journal and another Moleskin Journal. I would like to get into ATC's but have not found a group yet. I also love vintage of anything.
