I am a great big nerd. I love sci-fi and fantasy movies, books and video games. I'm an artist, an entrepreneur, and a bibliophile. I'm married to a heavy metal musician who also happens to be a great big nerd. I'm the mother to one, absolutely adorable three year old daughter who could probably name more Marvel comic book characters than you could.
I like going to the zoo, going to conventions, playing video games, reading, enjoying my family, and of course, creating things.
Current crafting interest: scrapbooking! I'm currently looking for any little bits that I can add to my scrapbooking arsenal. Bits of ribbon, rhinestones, sequins, or any other embellishments would really be appreciated!
I love heavy metal music! Specific genres of metal that I love = Doom, Funeral, Death, and Power. I also like a mix of other music, but absolutely no pop country, R&B, rap, hip hop, or pop music. None.
A brief list of bands that are close to my heart: As I Lay Dying, Draconian, Opeth, My Dying Bride, Blind Guardian, Amon Amarth, The Cure, Oingo Boingo, Nile, Voltaire, Demons and Wizards, Iced Earth, Amorphis, Black Sabbath, Counting Crows, Dragonforce, Tool... the list goes on.
And, of course, if you wanted to send me something Dethklok related, I would love you forever.
I love books. My favorite genre is fantasy, though I also enjoy Science Fiction. I have a large collection of antique books.
I collect books with the following themes: Arthurian literature, and books on the history of Britain, books on world religion, mythology, and occult literature.
I collect books by: Marrion Zimmer-Bradley, Issac Asimov, JRR Tolkien, C.S. Lewis, H.P. Lovecraft, and Alistair Crowley.
Labyrinth, The Dark Crystal, Princess Bride, Pans Labyrinth, LOTR, Dr. Horrible's Sing Along Blog.
I'll add more to this list in the future.
I do not have cable TV, but I watch a good deal of TV shows on DVD.
I love to make all sorts of things. I have a large room in my home dedicated to crafting, and it's got all manner of goodies inside.
Painting: I am a watercolor artist, and I love to paint. I typically create fantasy illustrations, but I also enjoy making portraits. If you're interested in having me paint something for you for a personal swap, please know that my 8x10 original paintings sell anywhere from $200+, so please offer a trade with something equivalent. My ACEOs start at $15 and go up from there.
Vinyl Decals: My vinyl decals are my current bread and butter. I go to conventions all over the state of Texas to sell them, and I have a great time doing so. Check out my Etsy shop for an idea of current designs I'm offering. I'm also happy to work on something custom, so if you'd like to have a web URL, logo, quote, etc... made up, I'd be happy to consider making one for trade!
Scrapbooking: I have started scrapbooking for my daughter. I am happy to make scrapbooking elements, or trade pieces from my collection.
I'm looking for all sorts of elements to add to my scrapbooking layouts. I'm just starting out, so anything would help, but here are specific things I'm looking for:
*Brads - all shapes, looking for pastels, white, and metallics
*Stickers and rub-ons - preferably to my themes
*Rhinestones and pearls - Yay!
*Buttons - Cute shaped buttons, flowers, stars, etc... or buttons with bright colors. I prefer flat buttons with 2-4 holes.
*Ribbon - I prefer ribbon printed with cute designs. I have a good deal of solid ribbon, but could use any length of pretty patterned ribbons.
*Patterned papers - I have a good deal of solid paper, but I love adding scraps of cute patterned paper to my layouts
*Destash - I'm happy to find use for anything you've used some of as long as they don't fall into the list below of items I'd prefer not to receive.
*SVG Files - If you make files for the Sure Cuts a Lot program and would like to trade a handful of your designs for a handful of mine, that would be great!
*Themes - Wedding, baby girl, seasonal, holidays (Christmas, Easter, Birthday, Valentines, Thanksgiving, Halloween - all non-religious), Disney
*Other - chipboard, glitter, embossing powders, stamps you no longer use, etc... Anything scrapbook worthy!
SCRAPBOOKING ELEMENTS I WOULD PREFER NOT TO HAVE: Anything themed baby boy, sports, dogs, religious
I love playing with clay. My preferred brand is Sculpey (Super Sculpey is amazing!) but would love to work with any scraps you've got laying around. I could also use clay sculpting tools (like dentistry tools)
Gears, watch faces, brass stampings, Victorian or Art Deco inspired odds and ends
Any books that fall into my preferred themes and authors. If you choose to send me religious books, please know that I already have a vast collection of contemporary Christian reading, and am currently looking for a wider view of other world religions. However, if you would like to send books on the history of Christianity or early Christian sects, they would be appreciated.
