I love sewing bags, various accessories, such as wallets, coin purses, make up/toiletry bags and dolls. I knit and crochet and also enjoy beading. I also like to sew matching tea wallet and business card holders.
I am a 41 years young mum to two and nanny to one. I have a significant other and we have a dog, an adopted cat and 2 pet rats! I like most sorts of music, except for punk and really heavy rock...not to keen on trance type stuff either. I love true crime stuff such as books and tv shows. I also love comedy and 'chick flicks'. I'm currently attending an adult campus local to where I live, and I'm doing a course called "Sewing Makes Cents". In the last couple of years I've also studied accounting, small business management and M.Y.O.B, however I didn't complete the last one, as it was only useful if you were going to be using the programme straight away, on a regular basis.
I have a real severe reaction to vanilla scented stuff.....just one whiff and I get a chronic headache. (Only just dawned on me to add this to my profile....didn't think of it till I just read someone else's profile that stated all sorts of allergies/dislikes on it) My favourite colour is purple, however there isn't really a colour I dislike totally. I prefer cute to prim when you're talking dolls, haven't made any whimsical or fantasy dolls, but that doesn't mean I won't love them! I am quite liking some of the more country aspect of crafting (I think!). Softie wise, I LOVE owls, they are such calming looking creatures to me. I have a severe stationery fetish and especially love stationery if it's purple! I also collect fridge magnets, especially from different cities around the world or hand made ones. As with most of us craft people, I also collect sewing patterns and fabric! I've also started to become partial to witches...lol Cloth and clay witches that is, not pagans, although there's nothing wrong with them, there's just not room in my house for any more people....my fabric collection is slightly large (1 bedroom almost full of all my craft stuff and it's spilling over to other rooms of the house too!) I'm happy to swap fabric, and as long as it's cotton fabric, I'm happy to receive it...from fat 1/4 upwards.
I truly appreciate handmade/hand crafted items over bought goods....as I feel it shows someone has put alot of thought/time into making or picking that item up/out to buy/make for me. Does that make sense? I hope so.
I was born in Sth Australia, and at age 7 I went to the UK for a slightly long holiday....fourteen and a half years to be exact! Whilst in the UK and in between studying, I travelled through most of Europe and also Scotland, Wales and England although I never made it over to Ireland, but always wanted to go....must be cause that's where the Balarny stone is to kiss! I've been to Bali, Kuala Lumpur, Singapore, USA (North). I married a Hispanic American but we've since separated. Even though his family were from Mexico, I never made it across the border, but would have liked to. Places I'd love to travel to are Canada, South America (Cancun!) Ireland and to travel around Australia....likelihoods are that I'll probably only ever get to do part of the latter though. I'd love to do a round the world cruise.
Cloth Dolls - prefer cute, but country bordering on prim is ok too.
Dottee Dolls - Haven't made any yet, but am involved in my first Dottee swap currently (June 2009)

If you keep dreaming of your travels, I believe you can make it happen in your lifetime...Always believe in your dreams...and even if you can't get to all the places in person, go there on the internet. With technolody what it is today, that's totally possible. I traveled extensively while in the US Navy and I enjoyed every moment of it and I have some wonderful memories to cherish for my entire life...Keep believing in your dreams honey! Have a great day, Shelley
