About Me

Hey, I'm Bridie! I'm 17 years old and most of all I love receiving hand decorated packages in the mail. I live in Brisbane, Australia. We should hang out!

I love all Japanese couture accessories, including (especially) decoden and decora! I joined swapbot in the hopes to showcase some of my decoden work, and to hopefully find others that share my love for DIY in similar styles that I enjoy myself.

I believe the best accessories you'll find are those that are hand made, and while I do love widely distributed resin flatback ♡♡SO KAWAII♡♡ cabochons and embellishments, I've learned that just about anyone can get their hands on those, so they don't particularly aid me in striving to create an ultimately unique product. Still, I'm always looking for supplies, especially in swaps!

I sell custom personalised and hand made cases for gadgets and the like. You can check out some of my work on Flickr! http://www.flickr.com/photos/sototallylame/ Or in my Etsy store! http://www.etsy.com/shop/sototallylame Let me know if you'd like to order your own, I'm always looking to give discounts to those who ask, so don't be afraid to haggle with me! :)

Favorite Crafts

I truly love hand sculpting all my cabochons used on my decoden pieces. I make them with a range of different clays using a number of tools to achieve different realistic textures.

I use air dry, ceramic, translucent, porcelain based, and polymer clays. I love to collect all different sculpting products, from different brands and countries in different colours that give different effects!

Wishlist

As I've said, and I'll reinforce, I'M ALWAYS LOOKING FOR SUPPLIES!

Anything shiny, tiny, sparkly, glittery, glossy!!!, colourful, cute/kawaii, I want it!

I especially love fake miniature foods, candies and sweets. They go so well with everything, they're also my favourite thing to sculpt, paint, and decorate with. I'm in awe at and in debt to anyone who can add these to my collection.

To put it into a list, I like & would love to receive:

♥ Hand made cabochons

♥ Resin flatback cabochons

♥ Adorable goods & decoratives

♥ Embellishments of mostly any kind

♥ Stickers

♥ Things I can use as freebies & gifts when I'm sending items off to my customers (most of them love pink and kawaii!)

♥ Decoden items!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

♥ All accessories! I love accessories dammit!

♥ Make up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Help me stay pretty!

♥ Hair clips

♥ Patterned fabric

♥ Memo pads/cute paper

♥ Anything girly!

Things I don't need:

✖ BEADS! I really have no use for beads of any kind (buttons are ok so long as they don't have holes in the front)

✖ Scrap booking materials

✖ Jewellery parts, this includes any metal charms, I just have no use for them!

Aside From My Work

Me personally - I love anything ewy, gooey, slimy, creepy, radioactive, junky, chunky, things you'd find in the trash, things covered in disgusting melted pizza cheese, spots, stripes, in your face bright colours that clash, neons, patterns, HAWAIIAN patterns, ugly things, so ugly it's CUTE things, drippy things and anything else that's TOTALLY GROSS!

Don't think gothic, scenester or emo, but slimy, yucky, gooey, gross and extraterrestrial - out of this world man!

Comment: ETA: Went to use one of the Astro Boy stickers only to find it had no 'stick' to it. No adhesiveness. Others are falling off the backing papers. Every sheet is the same. I was already disappointed they were so tiny (most way smaller than a fingernail), though I didn't like to say, and also that they were late (although I never rate down for lateness alone) but the fact that they don't even stick - I'm afraid I need to reduce your rating. Too many requirements are not fulfilled. You're welcome to contact me if you want to send sticky stickers that are not so tiny (and not too late). I'd be happy to restore the original rating. **I felt this should be downgraded to a 3 but I can't seem to do that after rating a 5 initially. All I've been able to do is remove the heart, but if I can find out how to downgrade to a 3, I think it's fair to other swappers that I do so.** (Original message: They took a while to reach me but I did get your stickers. Thanks so much!)

Hello Bridie! I´m Efi from Greece. Nice to meet you :-) I love japanese cuture accesories too, especially decoden! I checked out your etsy shop, wow, you do a great job. The cases look so great! I´ve never tried to make some decoden by my own, i don´t think i´m so talented.

Hi Birdie - how fun to be partnered with you for the Make a New Friend swap! I have always wanted to visit Austraila. Hopefully some day!

I think it is great that you appreciate hand made itmes, especially at your age. I loved this quote on you wishlist:

"Anything shiny, tiny, sparkly, glittery, glossy!!!,"

I totally agree!

I also like rusty things and found objects for my art work, but I am not sre I agree so much with this line:

"I love anything ewy, gooey, slimy, creepy, radioactive"

Lol! So, if I ever end up with that kind of stuff, I'll have to think of you and perhaps send it off to you who will appreciate it. Ha!

Hope you are having a great day!
