I work in marketing at a university hospital system and have a wonderful partner and sweet baby son. We have a big friendly mutt in our household too.
I am an avid reader and writer. I love literary fiction, memoir, fascinating history/social science, and the classics.
I enjoy hiking, backpacking, camping, and mountaineering with my family. We love the outdoor opportunities here in the Pacific Northwest!
I'm a paper crafter, and dabble in painting and drawing.
Things I like to make and also like to receive:
*Handmade notecards/postcards
*Zentangles
*Zines
*Journals
*Mail art
*Naked mail
*ATCs, inchies, twinchies
*Mandalas

Non-crafts I like to swap:

*Letters/notes
*Notecards
*Paper crafting supplies
*Journals
*Stationery (not for computer)
*Googly eyes, brads, non-flat stickers

I do a lot of zentangles and love to swap them. I'm not particular about using the official trademarked Zentangle method or patterns. Below are some samples of what I've created!
My favorite color is yellow, closely followed by pink/red. I love yellow and pink together! I also like green and really like multi-colored items.
As far as shades, I tend to prefer bright, vibrant shades and jewel tones. I like pastels - especially yellow and pink. I'm not too excited by earth tones or darker shades.
MAPS! - especially unusual maps (like a historical map, a map of a small town, or some sort of themed map).
Typical tourist cards - scenic/city views, cards from a tourist destination/landmark, etc.
I prefer NAKED postcards, with a message and a stamp.
I also enjoy USED vintage postcards - the older the better, with old stamps and interesting old messages.
I prefer literary fiction, short stories, biography, memoir and well-researched, well-written history and social science. I am interested in book reviews and recommendations. I don't like most genre fiction (like romance, mystery, thriller, etc...) and I don't usually like series fiction.
Favorite novels: A Tree Grows in Brooklyn, We Have Always Lived in the Castle, The Solace of Leaving Early, A Tale of Two Cities, Midnight's Children, The Once and Future King, Joseph Andrews, Cat's Cradle, A Prayer for Owen Meany, A History of the World in 10 1/2 Chapters, The Heart is a Lonely Hunter, Gilead, Ada, Tinkers, One Hundred Years of Solitude, Their Eyes Were Watching God, The Grapes of Wrath, Sacred Hunger, Waterland, The Man Who Fell in Love with the Moon, Sometimes a Great Notion, All the Light We Cannot See, Americanah, Salvage the Bones, Love Medicine
Favorite short story authors: Anthony Doerr, Alice Munro, Raymond Carver, Carson McCullers, George Saunders, Junot Diaz, Jhumpa Lahiri, Edgar Allan Poe, Lucia Berlin
Poetry: Lawrence Ferlinghetti, Langston Hughes, ee cummings
