Hi, To tell you about myself its hard to know where to start but here goes; I am English born but currently live in the south-west region of France - beautiful countryside, wonderful food and even better wine what more could you want? (sun in winter would be nice but you can't have everything) I have a fabulous husband and the most gorgeous daughter. After rushing through the housework I spend all my time on various and numerous craft projects mostly fabric and thread based. I love trying anything contemporary, with a vintage twist but always unique. I suppose that's one word that would describe me best - unique!! Oh and I can't spell - sorry :(
I just love music. Pop music very loud when doing the housework - something good to dance to. Classical on a Sunday morning with a cup of coffee and hot toast. Country and western for line dancing classes, of course! Rock/metal when I am driving in the car - although this can make me look a little strange to passing motorists. Dance/club music when out with friends, with a few drinks inside me!! Anything goes really
Books like music are varied and are devoured with much love. I will read as much as I can lay my hands on. Probably not so good to admit too but my favorite thing to do just before I fall asleep is to read a chapter or two of a trashy airport novel/chic lit. Thats not to say I don't enjoy a more intelligent read but I tend to save that for when my brain is working properly.
my favorite movie has to be My Fair Lady with Audrey Hepburn. What is there not to love about her? Other than musicals I am not a big movie fan.
I watch it because my family has it on. No real favorites there either.
Ah, this is an easier catagory! I love needle crafts - embroidery, knitting, crochet, lace, machine embroidery - I could go on but you get the idea. I'm not so keen on paper crafts such as card making but I do enjoy painting. I love taking ideas, pictures and inspiration from what I see around me and turning it into a piece of art especially if I can mix different craft mediums. Anything that makes people think, even if it is thinking that they don't like my work, at least I will be remembered!
Colour - lots of it, my favourite colour would probably be purple or maybe red or black or silver or pink... you get the idea, I love colour. Anything to do with fabric, craft supplies or art. Pooh bear - but not the Disney version, original is always best (Pooh is the nickname given to me by my brothers and sister). Vintage. Dark subjects - vampires, witchcraft, goth etc. Fairies. Tatoos. Nudity but not pornography. Handmade items - anything that has a bit of thought behind it.
Cutesy things - Kawaii/ Disney. Scrapbooking. Please do not send me any food/drink as I have a very severe lactose intolerance.. Other than that I am very easy to please... but I will update when and if I think of other stuff.
My wonderful daughter is 12 going on 18. Should she participate in any children's swaps (which she is dying to do) her likes are: wildlife especially tigers, birds, all animals really, reading (English or French), writing, painting, drawing, sewing, all colours, T.V. such as Dr Who and Star Wars, I am sure there is much more but I will add as I think of others. Her dislikes are: Dora (please please never send Dora or Dora related items), very girly things such as Barbie, Disney princesses. She is quite easy to please as long as you don't go down the girly route, in fact maybe if you think boy it may work better!! (She just said to take that boy bit off as she doesn't want people thinking she is a boy, let me assure you she isn't, she likes pink as much as the next girl :) )
Please don't think me strange about not giving her personal details such as name, DOB etc here. I just worry about safety, but I will of course give any swap partner details by PM.
I put most of my swaps on my Flickr page so if you like a surprise probably best not to look!!
I have noticed that some swaps are taking longer than others to arrive and seem to go to other destinations first. I have asked my local post office about this and all they came up with is that sometimes if the 7 isn't crossed it can be mixed up with a 1. So when writing our postcode please can you ensure the 7 is clearly a 7, if possible crossing it through the centre would be great. Sorry to be awkward! :)
