I'm a stay-at-home mommy who loves to be crafty! My kids and a part-time job keep me busy, but arts and crafts fill me up and make me happy. I'm looking forward to sharing a piece of myself with others, and receiving a bit of their craftiness in return.
Quilting, fiber art, painting and paper crafts. I'm up for trying most anything, but I especially like tactile crafts where you can really work with your hands and materials.
I like all kinds of music! U2 is my favorite band, but I also like to listen to classical, opera, latin, country, dance, and world music. With two kids, I'm also very familiar with the likes of Justin Roberts and Ralph's World. I believe that music, like art, is a great connection point for people.
I love to travel, and to learn about other cultures. My favorite places are in the Pacific Northwest and British Columbia, Canada (and I'll throw in Maine there too, it's where my dad grew up - in Bar Harbor). I know my way around the big cities, but I'm happiest being outdoors near the mountains and forests.
My dream vacations would be to Africa, and the Patagonia region and Amazon River in South America.
I'm a die-hard naturalist and believe that conserving our world and taking care of our wildlife is of upmost importance. Our open spaces and natural land areas are our world's greatest treasures, but we need to keep a keen eye on them and take care of what we've been lent.
Types of Art I Really Like: folk art, whimsical art, Americana
Favorite Artist: John Singer Sargent, I also love Charley Harper -- brilliant!
Favorite holiday: 4th of July
I really love birds. Canda Geese, California Quail and owls are my favorites, but I really love them all.
I am wildly engaged in philanthropic efforts focused on women's empowerment and assisting those less fortunate. I'm a proud member of Women for Women International and Kiva.org and I strongly believe we all have a responsibility to making this world a better place.
I'm a master baker and have been working as a PR consultant in the food world for 13 years. Breads (yeast and quick), muffins, cakes, cookies -- you name it, I can make it. I also enjoy recipe development and have concepted and managed many recipes that have been developed for major brands.
My background includes the management of cooking contests for some of the most notable brands in the food world. It's always really entertaining to read the entries!
I work for one of the world's leading hotel and restaurant companies. I help our restaurants - located throughout the US with their online marketing.
I don't sign up for a lot of swaps at one time because I'm very interested in quality vs. quantity. You can read my comments and find that I put 110% into every swap I do. I spend a lot of time making things that I think people will find interesting, and showcasing the best of what I can do.
I'm in PR, so I'm naturally an information machine. I will always provide extras, even in an e-mail swap. That's the way I choose to approach Swap-bot and the swaps I take part in.
