Favorite Music

I don't like metal. Everything else gets it's turn depending on my mood, bag pipes, folk, country, rock, pop, and silly kids songs can all be mixed together on my ipod at times.

Favorite Books

Again it really really depends on my mood. I think one of the best books I have read in a very long time is "Water for Elephants", the Anne of Green Gables series is a favorite and just about any Myth or Fairy Tale. I'm not above a good "trashy romance".

Favorite Movies

The Lord of the Rings Trilogy, Disney's Beauty and the Beast, The Lion King, Mulan, and The Little Mermaid, Howl's Moving Castle, Pride and Prejudice, Sirenity

Favorite Television

Firefly, Babylon 5, Leverage, Alias, The Adventure's of Brisco County Jr., 30Rock

Favorite Crafts

Right at the moment I can't seem to stop embroidering but I am starting to miss my sewing machine. I also knit, spin, crochet, scrapbook, and make the occasional card or two.

About Me

I am really bad at describing me. I love animals especially especially dogs. I am a nerd with a few girly inclinations. (I love having my nails done, but will never think to paint them myself.) I do not like to shop and will avoid buying clothes until I no longer have a choice. I will shop for craft supplies but I usually go in knowing what I need find it and go. My favorite toys are my craft stash, my camera, and my computer. I'm told I'm friendly and nice, but new people scare me so please feel free to say hi. I'll always talk back I just don't usually know how to start a conversation.

Likes

It feels weird to write such a list but after sending out a few swaps I realize how helpful they can be.

I love colors. Bright Colors, soft colors, stark colors. Every time I think I have a favorite I see a prettier shade of a different color.

Dogs

I have a LOT of craft supplies but seed beads, wool felt or the new rayon/bamboo felt, thin ribbon or lace are things I don't have much of and I have recently discovered how much I like adding extra little touches to my embroidery.

I collect frogs (particularly frog princes) but I'm to the point were I have a lot of figurines. I would love something useful that has frogs on it, scissors, needlebook, etc

Hand made things. I am the person who makes things in my little circle of family and friends. I make and give a lot of hand made gifts which, bless them, are always appreciated. It didn't occur to me though until I got a swap ATC (thank you firstborn) that said "made especially for Carrie Elmore" on the back that I rarely get handmade gifts and how very much I loved something being made especially with me in mind.

Natural fibers. I love just about any plant or animal based fiber. They just feel good to me. I don't mind wool at all.

I don't drink much tea but I love the idea of it. I love hot chocolate and flavored coffee.

Pinups

Your favorite recipes. Those comfortable ones you go back to over and over.

Tea towels

The Muppets, Fraggle Rock, just about anything by Jim Henson. I think he was one of the most creative geniuses this world has ever seen.

J'onn J'onzz, The Martian Manhunter (trust me, you can't go wrong with this one)

Dislikes

(There aren't very many)

Microfiber anything. Dish clothes etc. I know most people love them but I can't touch it. It gives me the heebeejeebee willy's that most people reserve for things like spiders or snakes. (This also applies to things like craft felt, some fleece fabrics and polyester knit but not usually to the extent of the micro fiber.)

Canned Beets (you probably didn't need to know that)

I appear to be allergic to metal that isn't sterling silver or gold. It doesn't matter so much for necklaces or bracelets etc but my ears are particularly sensitive.

Super Man ( I can rant for a long time about the "Man of Steel" being a big baby in comparison to other far more worthy heroes.)

Comment: Beautiful photograph. I will check out that site you mentioned for the tutorials. Those petunias used to reseed themselves at my house. They are annuals, but yet they would come back the next year. Thank you for the photograph.
Response: I love seeing the "wild" ones every year. http://www.digital-photography-school.com/ is a fantastic sight. Lots of very useful things.

Comment: lovely photo Carrie, and I especially enjoyed knowing the story behind it which is equally as lovely! "Weeds" are among my favorite nature subjects to photograph! Thanks for sharing! Happy swapping & shooting!
Response: Thank you. They are mine too. I'm fascinated by the "wild" things around here, and since it is Oregon and things grow better on accident than on purpose I get a lot of opportunity. :)
