I have recently had a death in my immediate family and it has more than shaken me. I have fallen behind on some swaps and I am very sorry for that. I will send/resend any and all swaps if you send me a message. I am not signing up for any more until I have both caught up and when I have the time, money, and ability to rejoin this community. I don't say this as an excuse, but I'm barely coping at the moment.
Hi, I'm Crystal. I'm a 20yo Aussie girl from rural Victoria.
I am also called 'Kimba' by many people, which is an Aboriginal word meaning 'bushfire'. I earned it as my Guiding name, but I answer to it at all times.
I'm Deaf and I have severe allergies and physical disabilities. Despite (or maybe because) of this, I love to be involved in online communities because I love talking to people, but I'm not that good with face-to-face stuff.
I am terrified of spiders and not very fond of clowns.
I'm a Girl Guide leader, and one of my favourite things is when I see them really enjoying something I have spent a long time planning, or when I see or hear about them being able to put what they learn into use in the real world. One of my girls helped a friend with an asthma attack and she stayed calm because we learned First Aid as a Unit.
I will never flake on a swap that I have committed to. If it hasn't arrived, please let me know before you rate and I will always resend.
Tea: I love tea and trying new kinds. I'm not keen on berries and I can't have any with apple, dairy, nuts, or peanuts (you'd be surprised what goes in them) but except for those, I drink any and all tea varieties. Black, white, green, oolong, herbal, I try them all.
Postcards: I love them, touristy and non-touristy alike. Written-on, not-written-on, Zazzle or not, naked or envelope, English or a different language, I love them all. Some favourites themes are; culture, nature, history, castles, animals, local. I love handmade ones, because it is extra-special to me that someone took the time to make it themselves.
Photographs: Personal or professional, photos make me happy. Black and white, colour, I love them all, but sepia has a special place in my heart.
Candles: I love candles, scented and non-scented alike. I can't handle the chemically-smelling ones, apple, or berry scents, but I love all others. Vanilla is probably my favourite, with citrus being a close second.
Fandom-related things: I'm a huge fan of Yu-Gi-Oh!, Fullmetal Alchemist, Supernatural (TV), Sherlock (BBC), and Harry Potter (books), so anything to do with any of them makes me giddily happy.
Recipes: I love recipes, because I cook most days and new things are fun and amazing. I love the old ones, passed down through the family. A small hand-written recipe card means more to me than a cookbook ever would.
Patch badges: I collect fabric badges and patch badges to sew onto my Girl Guide blanket. I don't mind double-ups (or triples) and I love all kinds.
I have a list of allergies, I'm sorry to have to put this up, but it's important for people to know.
I'm anaphylactic to peanuts, tree nuts, latex, and silicone. Including anything handled with rubber gloves or cooked/made with/on rubber or silicone thingies.
I'm very allergic to apple, to where even the smell makes me react.
I'm also allergic to dairy, potato, wheat, and gold, but those aren't typically an issue.
I have very bad asthma, and cannot handle the smell of cigarette smoke. If the swap is coming from a smoking home, please let me know so that I can take the proper precautions when opening it.
I play World of Warcraft, Diablo 3, Age of Empires, and all versions of the Sims on PC. I play Pokemon and Yu-Gi-Oh! on DS. And on PS2 I play YuYu Hakusho: Dark Tournament and Yu-Gi-Oh!.
I am A Yu-Gi-Oh! Duellist, with heaps of decks and not many people to play against. I have a Magic: The Gathering and a Pokemon deck also, but I'm still learning those. I'm always after cards, of any kind (used or unused, beaten up or good condition), but especially fake Yu-Gi-Oh! cards.
I go to one or two Melbourne conventions each year, and I love to dress up for them. I love steampunk and Victorian styles, and wearing them.
I love anything to do with history and/or mythology, especially the Ancient Egyptians and the Norse, but any and all.
Anything made of or containing apple, dairy, nuts, peanuts, latex, or silicone. If there's even the tiniest chance of cross-contamination, please tell me!
Coffee and berry flavoured/scented anything. I'm not a fan of either.
Chocolate.
Gold-tone earrings (they make me swell up).
Make-up, skin products, lip gloss, or sunscreen. I am highly allergic to certain brands and unless it's one I know is safe, I won't ever use it.
Anything too-too religious, as does make me a tad uncomfortable. Angels, demons and crosses are fine, I love them, but Biblical verses aren't my cup of tea.
Pokemon: Bulbasaur
Anime Character: Roy Mustang (Fullmetal Alchemist)
Colour: Orange. I love blues, purples, reds, and browns as well.
Drink: Chai. I love all teas, but loose chai is my favourite. I think it's the strong cinnamon.
Game: Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game. I'm an avid collector and Duellist, and I love cards of all kinds, real or fakes.
Motif: Leaves. I like fire and butterfly patterns as well, but the image of leaves is one I like.
Season: Summer. I'm not a fan of the cold.
Thing to collect: Drawings of Roy Mustang (from Fullmetal Alchemist). It's an odd thing to collect, I know, but I absolutely love it. I have sketches, prints, digital art, ATCs, and I'm always looking for more.
Supervillain: Loki (Avengers).
Superhero: I honestly usually cheer for the villain; they have more interesting stories. But I love all of the Avengers. And The Flash.
Antihero: Deadpool. I love him and his fourth-wall breaking.
