Hi! My name is Elke and I'm from The Netherlands, yes, the small country famous for its flowers, cheese and uhhh, other stuff ;) Having heard about snail mail and swapping about a year ago, I'm now trying this out because I love to be crafty from time to time and like to send and receive nice and happy mail! I also like to learn and read about other cultures so it would be nice to have international contacts. I really like nice drawings, glittery stuff, crafty prints and designs, cheeky or inspirational quotes. I'm not really into vintage/embroidery, I'm more into modern things :)

I love animals, travelling, friends & family, drinking lots of tea, cooking, reading, watching tv and random things which make me happy, for me it's all about appreciating the little things in life.

I just joined a tea swap and I guess this won't be the last one, so here are my preferences; I'm no black tea fan, but I love white and green or mixed tea. Moreover, mint/fruit/rooibos/lemon kind of teas are my favorites.

Words that describe my likes: flowers, bright aqua blue colors (teal), flamingo's, tea, pineapple, prints of fruit, stickers to decorate mail, nice fonts, music, chevron prints, Richard Scarry's Lowly Worm, humor, pink colors, glitter, Star Wars makes me always happy 'cause no one of my friends like it and I embrace this nerdy part of me ;)

I made a happiness jar, for the days I'd like some inspiration or a happiness boost. If you like, please include just 1 very small folded piece of paper with a nice quote, joke or whatever you think will cheer someone up, I'd really appreciate it! :D

Music guides me through the day, I almost love every kind of music. My home features a really cool & old cabinet with a built-in radio, which most people would never place in their homes but which is my favorite piece of furniture! As soon as I wake up, I press play and it fills my home with music :D My all time favourite artists include Red Hot Chili Peppers, John Mayer, Michael Jackson, Queen, Beyoncé, Coldplay, The Rolling Stones, Faithless, Ben Howard, Jett Rebel, Kings of Leon, India.Arie, Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Queens of the Stone Age & Muse.

Watching a movie is one of my favorite ways to relax. I like lots of movies like Intouchables, Avatar, The Holiday, Australia, The Dark Knight Rises, Pulp Fiction, Flight, Notting Hill, all James Bond movies, How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days, Les Choristes, Despicable Me, Django Unchained, The Prestige, all Star Wars movies, Beauty and the Beast etc.

I mostly watch series; Modern Family, Homeland, The Big Bang Theory, Hart of Dixie, Friends, Sex & the City, Orange is the New Black, Game of Thrones, Downton Abbey, Grey's Anatomy and my Dutch favorite Gooische Vrouwen.
