I'm a Christian wife and elementary music teacher living in the American West. I make things….things you can eat, things you can use, and some that are just plain pretty. I’m learning to sew, I love opera, I’m a violinist, and I read cookbooks for fun. And I think I would die without tea.
Opera--particularly by Mozart, Rossini, Verdi, Puccini, and Benjamin Britten
Ella Fitzgerald, Frank Sinatra, Louis Armstrong, young Rosemary Clooney, Harry Connick Jr.
Tender at the Bone and Garlic and Sapphires by Ruth Reichl
Flatbreads & Flavors by Jeffrey Alford and Naomi Duguid
Lord of the Rings by JRR Tolkien Chronicles of Narnia by CS Lewis The Adventures of Tom Sawyer by Mark Twain The Gourmet Cookbook: More than 1000 recipes by John Willoughby, Zanne Early Stewart, and Ruth Reichl
Anything by Nick Malgieri, Flo Braker, Rick Bayless, and Maida Heatter
Wallace and Gromit, Lord of the Rings, Meet Me in St. Louis, Singin in the Rain, An American in Paris, Funny Face, The Great Race, Some Like it Hot, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Mary Poppins, The Sound of Music, White Christmas, Guys and Dolls
Keeping Up Appearances, the old Martha Stewart show, Divine Design, Alias (I mourn its demise bitterly), Ace of Cakes, the original Japanese Iron Chef
Right now--sewing things for my home--aprons, duvets, curtains, quilts, yoyo quilts--eventually--vintage clothing (40's-50's). As for swapping, I think I will be swapping fabric mostly. I love really pure colors--like mid century modern and really pure spring colors. I do NOT like the colors of fall (unless they're on trees) or anything muted.
