UPDATE: Working full-time during a pandemic in a healthcare office is unnerving and is taking its toll on me. I have vacation time, but I can't safely go anywhere right now. I'm also in the middle of trying to purchase a house. I'm stretched very thin, so I'm slowing down my swaps for the time being and will only be doing a few here and there. Thanks for understanding.
I'm currently working full time as a social worker in a women's health clinic. I'm actively trying to do good in the world through being in a helping profession!
Please, please , please contact me before rating me with a low number if you don't receive your swap. I send them out, but sometimes they do get lost. I'm more than happy to re-send to make sure you get your swap! ^__^
I love to explore beadwork. I mainly use seed beads, but I love large, funky beads. Plastic beads with a flat back that have interesting detail are neat, but I don't like pony beads or dull colors. Cabochons and other trinkets with flat backs such as fun buttons are great! I love to use oddities in my art. I have competed twice in a DIY beard competition with beards that were fully beaded. I took first place the last time, hoping to repeat that in 2020.
Trained in darkroom photography and metalsmithing. I love keeping my hands busy creating. If I had my druthers, I would have a studio to pursue these hobbies, however I do not. That's why I bead, sew, and do a few other things in my very spare time. However, I love creating things for people, so I'm hoping to participate in a few more of the handmade items swaps! I have taught myself how to hand bind books and small notebooks. I love doing that, but I don't do it as often as I can.
Cats are my absolute favorite animals. I currently have five cats, Zapp Brannigan, Ginger, Callie, Snickers, & Wendy. They're each silly and special in their own unique ways. I love cat themed items, and I consider myself a bit of a cat lady.
In my spare time I dig catching live music, a movie from time to time, and hitting up one of the several amazing parks near me. I like being outside when the weather is decent! I also love coffee and volunteering at my local, community farmers' market. I keep busy, but I find time to create!
Let's see, the more creative the swap, the more I'm probably going to like it. I'm a crafter at heart and appreciate handmade items! I hope to be able to participate in some swaps like that at some point in time.
No allergies that I know of. Chocolate is one of my best friends, haha. I love bright and colorful things, the brighter the better usually.
I know this is a disjointed profile, but it's just how I roll. I love people, I love crafting, and I just want to participate and enjoy swapping!
Most importantly,I get so excited to send and receive snail mail! Each envelope or package is always such a treat, and I like to think that I can put a smile on someone else's face by participating! I love receiving mail art. I just made my first minizine and the swap host said they were addictive. She was correct, and I'm looking forward to making more.
I've started making ATCs, and I freaking adore them! However, I'm not one who embellishes them with all the bells and whistles, I'm a good old sharpie/watercolor/paint kind of gal when I make mine. Just wanted to get that out there so no one can't say I didn't warn them! Mine are typically all HD/HP. :)
I try to get my swaps out as quickly as possible. I do not flake, and I hope no one does on me. However, I realize this probably happens more often than not. I won't be one of those folks, so no worries here.
I have started selling my collection of vintage postage stamps that have been cancelled. I may get around to selling lots of vintage, unused postage as well. I have a ton, feel free to browse.
