Hello :)
UPDATE 11th April 2011 - Ok, so I got behind, I bombed on a few swaps and I am sorry :( Life happens sometimes. I am trying to restore my good name, you can see from my feedback, before PND and other crazy life stuff I did send awesome swaps. Please give me a chance to redeem myself!
I am 32, British, living in the UK with my wonderful family (OH and 3 beautiful girls and 1 sweet boy).
I love all things crafty, and have a particular weakness for cheerful, vibrant fabrics, both vintage and new.
I am a gatherer by nature, and love collecting random vintage pieces and weird and wonderful lil treasures and trinkets.
You can read more about me and my crafty ways on my blog, do pop by and say Hello :)
Right now I am reading mostly non-fiction. I am loving Japanese Craftbooks especially!
I am always seduced by pretty photography, I love inspiring books about home and crafting with yummy pictures to inspire me. I also love cookery books.
I can eat books for breakfast, though don't find much time for fiction lately, I love everything by Oscar Wilde, and for easy reading, a good dose of chick lit. I like historical fiction and well, I read anything really!
I also LOVE magazines, especially Country Living and craft magazines, I receive the UK Country Living, but would love copies from the US (even back dated copies that you're done reading with).
I love hand sewing and embroidery. So sewing notions are always a nice treat.
I love sewing things for my home and kids and enjoy cooking, basically anything relating to the domestic arts.
I am starting to draw again after a long long break, coloured pencils and felt pens/markers are my favourite medium, not so great at painting.
I have really broad and eclectic musical tastes, anything goes, really! I am always delighted to be introduced to new kinds and styles of music by friends, it is how I discovered some of my favourite musical artists.
Jazz, Acid Jazz, Motown, Classical, Pop, RnB, HipHop, Grunge, Indie, Punk, Rock.. pretty much everything else too!
I really like traditional music from all countries too, Spanish Guitar, French Accordion, Latin etc Anything that sums up the essence of the country from where it originated.
Everyone seems to have a wish list, so here is mine! As you can see I like lots of things...
!Things I like....
Fabric & fabric scraps, no pieces are too small! even a 2x2" scrap can be used! I love novelty prints, polka dots and vintage or vintage inspired florals.
Ribbons, all kinds and colours
Mixed CD's, I am lame and haven't worked out how to burn CD's yet (duh) but would love to receive music from other cultures.
Holiday decorations, especially for easter, this is my favourite holiday, I love spring!
Writing paper/letter sets, I am rediscovering penpals, I used to have hundreds when I was a kid.
Anything polka dotted
I love things from nature, even plain old stones from your garden! Pine cones, pressed flowers, pressed leaves, shells... just tell me where you found it!
Buttons (vintage or new) especially cute themed buttons or sparkly rhinestone ones.
Recipes, I eat most anything and really appreciate recipes, especially if it is one close to your heart/family/local traditions
I love 1920's/30's/40's Nursery illustrations
I collect pre 70's sewing patterns
Vintage sewing notions
cookie cutters - all shapes and sizes
Anything hand written, a poem, short story, or just a letter telling me about you.
Hair Slides, I have long long long hair, so anything for my hair is neat :)
Vintage brooches, pendants and trinkets or handmade of the same.
knitted gloves/arm warmers/hats/scarves/socks
Pure Essential oils, any scent
Fresh flowery scents, jasmine, rose, bluebell, lily of the valley, violet, all those old fashioned scents!
Aprons, vintage, handmade or new
drawstring bags and totes made from pretty fabrics
anything depicting bluebirds or any cute chubby birds
Handmade coin purses
Vintage napkins and hankies in pretty fabrics/prints/embroidered.
Any art by you
Journals and notebooks, blank or used - I love to read other peoples ideas and notes!
Old photographs
Anything with pom pom's or even just plain old pom poms on their own.
Syrups, oils and spices/herbs from other countries.
Any vintage nursery items, old hangers, even baby shoes, I especially love old wooden alphabet blocks, not necessarily a whole set, maybe enough to spell out a word. Old toys and old children's books too.
Fabric buntings/banners/flags
Handmade Christmas stockings (you can send these any time of year!)
Any interesting vintage books, especially about nature, crafts, fashion, cookery, house keeping, child rearing, love those 50's housewife books! Books about birds and nature. Pocket books are best!
Embroidery floss
Seeds, any kind, or bulbs.
Lip balms & Hand salves, especially home made.
Vintage table linen or plain to embroider
Vintage wooden bobbins
Vintage picture frames, even if they are battered! The more weathered the better...
Vintage or new beads/necklaces, especially bright colours/ethnic/pearls/glass, even the cheap retro plastic beads.
Corsages, crocheted, sewn, all kinds!
Vintage pillow cases/shams, even plain white that I can trim or you trim for me! Embroidered, printed, anything goes (especially loving the retro prints right now)
Beads for crafting, all kinds
Vintage embroidery transfer patterns
Yarn - I am just learning to knit
Prisma Colour Pencils
I love all colours but am especially drawn to vibrant, saturated, eye popping colour! (not neon).
WOW, that's lots of stuff, if I think of anything else I will add it :)
There isn't a whole lot I don't like, I can appreciate the beauty in most things, even when they're old and tatty and falling apart, old things have a story and charm all of their own.
However I do ask that you please send me things you would be happy to receive yourself, and old speckled mirror is charming, your old canvas sports bag with holes and sweaty smell is not.. LOL
I am allergic to Evening Primrose (random I know!). I don't have pierced ears.
I am not so hard to please really, just send me something from the heart, I appreciate something that has been given much thought and consideration, anything handmade is always appreciated.
I will probably love most everything I am sent, I appreciate the time and effort more than the actual content of packages, it is just lovely to receive mail and a little piece of someones imagination.
