Musically, I'm extremely eclectic, with tastes ranging fromBroadway/showtunes to international music to soft rock & easy listening to Jewish and inspirational to New Age to'70's to Golden Oldies to instrumentals to etc. Some favorite groups and singers include ABBA, Carpenters, Frankie Yankovich, Celine Dion, Enya, John Tesh, Jim Brickman, Olivia Newton-John, the Platters, Anne Murray, Ed Ames, etc. I'm also big on holiday music of all sorts.
If my musical tastes are eclectic, my rading tastes are as well, though my absolute favorite genre of reading would have to be popular fiction with a strong emphasis on suspense fiction. I also enjoy inspiratonal fiction, self-help type books, cookbooks, nonfiction on subjects of interest, etc. Some favorite authors for me include Mary and Carol Higgins Clark, Ed McBain, Fern Michaels, Debbie Macomber, Nora Roberts, Nevada Barr, Joanne Fluke, Janet Evanovich, James Patterson, Diane Mott Davidson, Michael Connely, Hharlan Coben, Sue Grafton, Danielle Steel, Stephen King, Dean Koontz, Jjayne Ann Krentz, Belva Plain, Rabbi Harold Kushner, Lurlene McDaniel, JOhn Grisham, Lisa Scottoline, Linda Fairstein, Linda Howard, and the list goes on probably indefinitely. I frequently haunt our local Library and am a die-hard bookworm of many years and incurably so.
Actually I'm much more into TV movies than going to the theatre, as I'm quite the little homebody. I'm especially fond of the movies on LIfetime Movie Movie Network and Hallmark and Hallmark Movie Channel. I also absolutely ADORE musicals, such as FIDDLER ON THE ROOF, THE SOUND OF MUSIC, THE WIZARD OF OZ, GREASE, etc. And, if I have to pick 2 all-time movie favorites, they'd have to be ICE CASTLES (both versions, but most especially the original from 1978) and GREASE. I'm also quite hookedo n movies made from favorite novels such as those by Mary Higgins Clark, Danielle Steel, Nora Roberts, Michael Connelly (BLOOD WORK), etc. And I'm so eager to see the new (in production) Janet Evanovich ONE FOR THE MONEY movie when it comes out.
I watch 2 CS soap operas faithfully on a regular (daily) basis: YOUNG & the RESTLESS and BOLD & the BEAUTIFUL. I also love most reality shows of competition type such as AMAZING RACE, SURVIVOR, BIG BROTHER,, AMERICA'S NEXT TOP MODEL, and DANCING WITH THE STARS (and currently totally rooting for Heinz Ward to be the big trophy winner). I also love reality shows like DEADLIEST CATCH, ICE ROAD TRUCKERS, anythingo n Investigation Discovery, AMERICAN PICKERS, PAWN STARS, PAWN QUEENS, all the Logger shows (AMERICAN LOGGERS, AX MEN, SWAMP LOGGERS, ICE LOGGERS, etc.), LOBERSTERMEN, SWORDS: LIFE ON THE LINE, WJHALE WARS, etc. I love channels like the various incarnations in the Discovery Channel "family", Animal Planet, National Geographic and Nat. Geo. WILD, History Channel, etc. I also love figure skating competitions and exhibitions, gymnastics, cheerleading and dance competitions, etc. And, as noted above, movies and shows on Lifetime and LMN, Hallmark and Hallmark Movie Channel. And I also enjoy Showtime and their series DEXTER. My all-time #1 favoirte show for the past many years has been and remains DEADLIEST CATCH.
Myself in a nushell? I'm Jennifer, live in PA (USA), am very eclectic and thrill myself on learning new things and doing my best to get the most out of life. I'm more spiritual than religious and like the classic "Heinz 57" as my taste in just about everything goes. I'm an incurable food addict, chocoholic, coffee nut, herbal tea guzzler, and horrendously TERRIBLE at losing wweight, as I enjoy EATING way MORE than do I enjoy EXERCISING, though I do enjoy a good walk outdoors as weather permits. I'm a Nature Nut at heart and love both animals and plants. My favoirte animal is a dog, though anything furry and cute always steals my heart. I also love small pet type animals and hope to adopt a pair of gerbils for my next birthday. In many ways I'm a child at heart and will NEVER grow up.
In my latest news as of my sign-up date here at Swap-bot (110/11 May 2011) my latest news is that I'm obsessed with returning to school without leaving my apartment. As such I'm taking various courses via audio and video (CD and/or DVD) programs borrowed from my local Library, my favorite "haunt" in life. Currently I'm working courses in Basic Math and first level Chemisty. I also love studying foreign languages and currently am working on Hebrew, Italian, Norwegian, and Polish. The Hebrew and Italian seem to be going the best so far. (Why are all these subjects more fun now that I'm out of school? I used to HATE math, but now it's FUN! Go figure....)
