I am from the Seattle area, but live in Ecuador with my husband. I teach toddler movement/music/art classes and self-esteem classes for teenagers (who are all orphans). Back in the states I did child development testing and planning in the Early Head Start program. I just found out I am pregnant, due with baby #1 in October. Super excited!
I found the cutest little felt dog pattern on allsorts.typepad.com and have become a dog factory, deciding that all the orphans, and probably everyone I know needs one. I like sewing a lot, and am looking forward to starting some new quilts. I got a sewing machine for Christmas and have had some fun (and frustration) making all sorts of projects.
My husband says I like anything that is "wimpy". I will translate that to mean I like singer/songwriters, who mostly play by themselves. But I like a lot of stuff really. Damien Rice, Howie Day, Emme Packer, Matt Nathanson, Snow Patrol, Deathcab for Cutie, Postal Service, and of course Pat Benetar all come to mind.
I love travel. I love to see new places and have new adventrues. I love my cat who lives back in the states, and miss her. I love the snow, especially first snow. Probably what I love most of all is Halloween. Something about dressing up and scaring people and having a reason to eat armfuls of candy, it just makes sense to me. My husband just reminded me that I love purses. A lot! And I have a problem buying too many shoes that I curbed pretty well when I moved to Ecuador, their feet are a lot smaller than mine. I also LOVE surprises.
King of Queens, Monk, Psych (although I almost hate to admit it), Gilmore Girls, and I could probably watch infomercials for a long time too. I never buy anything, but always want to. We don't have a TV down here, so I do miss it a little.
I love to read. Loved: Moby Dick, Wuthering Heights, My Antonia, Shakespeare, C.S. Lewis, many classics seem to be right up my alley.
