It feels a bit odd to write something about myself, since I can't think of a lot of interesting stuff to tell about myself. But lets give it a try.
I'm Jim, from The Netherlands. I'm a student in Chemistry/ Engineering in Rotterdam.
That's the basics...
On music I've a very wide taste. I used to listen to dance music and later changed to hardstyle and hardcore. Under influence of friends I started listening rock music. I dropped hardstyle, and went into rock, metal and more.
Nowadays my playlists are filled with, for example, these artists: Metallica, Bullet for my valantine, Manowar, Linkin' Park, Disturbed, Sevendust, Iron Savior, Children of bodom, Nickelback, Three Days Grace, Black Sabbath, Dope, Pennywise, Rise Against and so on.
I'll go to some smaller local festivals here, because that's where the new music is. I've always wanted to go to something big, like Rock Am Ring or Pinkpop, but I just do not have the money for that. Too bad..
On the other hand I have my celtic, Scotish and Irish music. Very relaxing, very entertaining. And a whole world on it's own!
2013 has been an awesome year music related; been to 2 celtic festivals, went to 3 single-day local festivals and I saw System of a Down, Insomnium AND Children of Bodom LIVE!
And.. 2014 is going to be even better! Plans are starting to form to visit Bullet for my Valentine live, visit another 3 to 4 celtic festivals, one weekend of heavy metal music and off course the local festivals (probably another 3 or 4)!
On television it's pretty easy to sum it up: Comedy Central & Discovery Channel.
On CC the shows I enjoy most are Southpark, Family Guy, American Dad and Dharma and Greg. I'll watch other shows as well, but that's more because the other television is even worse.
On Discovery Channel I'll watch a lot more. But my all-time favorite is Mythbusters.
On other television (movies etc.) it's a bit depending on who I'm with at that moment. But most likely I'll watch comedy, like American Pie or one of my South Park DVD's. Or I'll watch some kind of action movie, like Mission Impossible, James Bond or Man in Black. Recently I started watching horrors, and it is working suprisingly well. So if you got any "mild" horror/thriller movies I should give a try; let me know!
On swaps I'll most likely join candy/ food related swaps, since I'm always in to try something new. And what's better than candy to do that?
.
Some things I really love:
Hot candy (like Pulparindo (Extra Hot)),
Sour candy,
Energy/ cafeinated candy (like Butterfinger Buzz or Rockit Pop),
Peanutbuttered candy (like Reese's and Butterfingers),
Odd flavoured KitKat (as found in Japan),
Those 'Do-it-yourself'-candy kits from Japan
Any other candy you think is worth trying for us.
.
Some things I'm not into:
Dark chocolate (but Milk and White choco are fine),
Bubblegum (no biggie though, but I still got plenty).
Since some swaps require special information, here's a list that will cover some of it.
My favorite colour is green (green with black is awesome as well!)
I LOVE candy (I'm sure you knew that already),
I spent a few hours a month in the kitchen making cakes and stuff.
I love (and collect) energy drinks in all possible flavours and sizes. Sending one or more (empty or past the BBE-date isn't a problem either), or promotional material (flyers, coupons, stickers, posters, pens etc.) with a swap is highly appreciated.
I love fireworks! I'll buy for about €500 of fireworks every year, for NYE. And I collect some stuff that has to do with it. I got some antique postcards with fireworks, some brochures, catalogs, books, some boxes from some firecrackers, some dummy-fireworks. And I got some nice lighters; from simple lighters, butane lughters up to semi-professional stuff. Just like with the energydrinks; sending fireworks-related stuff in swaps is highly appreciated.
.
Stuff I'm not into:
Twilight!
Postcards (except (antique) fireworks-related)
Collecting stamps etc.
Tea
Anything girly (I'm one of the few guys out here, eh?); Pink and purple stuff, Hello Kitty, Kawaii etc.
Anything for crafting.
.
Allergies etc.:
None, so that's an easy one!
