I'm a research scientist working in Auckland, New Zealand. My job is very analytical, technical and brain-straining, so I like to do creative things in my spare time. I'm pretty girly, I like girls nites out, fashion, cosmetics etc. However, in that my tertiary qualifications are all in Human Biology and Anatomy, I love all things anatomy and biology related. I'm constantly thinking of ways of incorporating science into my crafts!
I'm really into crafts at the moment - I've got several projects on the go including a quilt, cross-stitch, sewing garments, and embriodery. I've taught myself how to do most of these things, which is part of the fun. I really like "Subversive Cross Stitch" and "Sublime Stitching", I love that it's a new fun twist on a very traditional medium.
I love reading fiction. Particularly contemporary womens writing and classic literature. I'm never without a book to read before dropping off to sleep.
I have a love-hate relationship with cooking! I love to do it when I feel like it, and hate to do it when I have to! I'm probably best at baking and making sweet things, this caters well to my sweet tooth!
I'm a big film fan, it's posing quite a problem in that now when I go to the video rental store, it's "Seen it. Seen it. Seen it." My favourite movies would have to be... Funny Face Little Miss Sunshine Singing in the Rain Sleepless in Seattle A Very Long Engagement Fight Club American Beauty Breakfast at Tiffanys Casablanca Cruel Intentions Forrest Gump 40 Year Old Virgin Life is Beautiful The Castle (great Australian Film)
