Hi. I'm a 40 year old New England native. I love exploring the cities and towns of New England, but also love to travel. My schedule is always full of some sort of adventure, be it close to home or across the country.
I love serendipitous moments. I'm a geek for life and love to smile.
June 2024: I will be traveling for much of the month. It may take me a bit to get through all my mail, so ratings may be slow to be posted.
February 2024: I am back on Swap-bot after a hiatus and am thankful to have been part of some amazing swaps thus far since being back. If you have questions, including my 1s and what I've done to fix them, shoot me a message.
Cats. I've had cats my entire life. Found out I'm allergic in 2007. That doesn't mean I love them any less, I just try to avoid long hairs as much as possible.
Dogs. I have a Pug that is my snuggle buddy.
Chinchillas. Mine just turned 16 in May!
Koalas!
Platypuses
Rubber ducks.
Penguins.
Folk, Sixties & Seventies, Rock (primarily Alternative), some showtunes (i.e. RENT, Fun Home), movie soundracks (i.e. The Craft, Donnie Darko, almost any Disney film), comedy (i.e. Stephen Lynch & Flight of the Conchords).
Absolute Favorites: Cat Stevens, Joni Mitchell, Tegan & Sara, Vanessa Carlton, Lisa Loeb, Incubus.
I can hear the mourning dove by James Bennett, But Inside I'm Screaming by Elizabeth Flock, Smack by Melvin Burgess, The Unbearable Lightness of Being by Milan Kundara
I also read and collect comic books. I love one off or short run series comics that are by indie or local creators.
Mel Brooks' films, Kevin Smith's films, Dirty Dancing, Quentin Tarantino's films, But I'm a Cheerleader, Saved, Harold & Maude, Amelie, The Secretary, Romancing the Stone, The Princess Bride, Robinhood Men in Tights, and many more!
I'm a big fan of crime shows and sci-fi.
NCIS, Criminal Minds, Law & Order: SVU, Star Trek: Next Generation, Babylon 5, FarScape, Firefly, Eureka, and so many more!
I love creating art.
Collage, paper or mixed media is my favorite.
Photography, capturing candid moments, spectacular sunrises and sunsets, or the little things that happen/exist in the hustle and bustle of the streets.
I play video and computer games. Strategy games are my number one pick, but I'm not adverse to other gaming. Pikmin on Nintendo has to be my all time favorite game series. Followed by Animal Crossing and many others.
Board games are always up for play; Scrabble, Carcassonne, Ticket to Ride, Fluxx, UNO, Killer Bunnies, the choices are always expanding.
I sign up for swaps I have interest in, so anything I receive is happily accepted.
Baking/Cooking: I started to learn how to cook at age 35, that's right I avoided cooking at all costs until then. Now I stream baking and cooking on twitch weekly to talk about why it took me so long to learn. I make some classics as well as new to me recipes. I will always appreciate a handwritten recipe of your favorite dish, side, snack, or dessert.
Color: I love color. The more color the better. The shine and shimmer of metallic being added to color to make it pop is one of my favorite things. If holographic was a color it would be my favorite. I'm a sucker for shimmer and sparkle.
Food/Drink: Instead of soda or coffee, I drink teas as my primary beverage. I have a sweet tooth, so I always have candies and chocolates around. My favorite candy bar being a Violet Crumble from Australia. I am always up to try a regional snack or beverage. I belonged to the subscriptions of Universal Yums (worldwide snacks) and Sakuraco (Japanese snacks) for years in order to try new things.
Handmade: Create something from your heart that shows off my interests.
