I'm still new and I'm adding sections as I think of them. Its hard for me to talk about myself, so it may take me awhile to finish filling this out!!
Hi there, I'm a 21 year old woman from South Australia. I work as a receptionist/accounts clerk.
I joined this site because currently I receive very little mail that isn't bills (thankfully, there aren't too many...yet) so it would be lovely to start receiving letters/packages from swaps.
I live with my partner, a housemate and 3 cats. I've been with my boyfriend for nearly 2 years now.
I'm a diabetic, I was diagnosed when I was 16. So please, do not send anything overly sugary. I welcome anything sugar free, the range that is available here in Australia isn't all that great, so I LOVE trying different things. The best things I've ever seen are sugar free Oreos. The person who is able to top those will have a friend for life!
I spend the time that I'm not at work crafting, watching TV/movies or listening to audiobooks.
I'm a huge fan of Disney, musicals, science fiction Harry Potter, cats & Pokemon.
For more details keep reading below. If you want more information than I've put on here, please feel free to send me a message. :)
The first craft I ever did was cross stitch, I've been doing it since I was 7 years old.
In recent years I've also taught myself how to knit and crochet. Now I split my time between doing all three of these crafts.
My current obsession is making little crochet toys (amigurumi). My favourite one that I've made so far is a little cthulhu!
I'm a huge bookworm! I'm also lucky enough to be able to listen to audiobooks while I work.
No, I'm not a Twilight fan. I'm not going to argue with anyone about it. Please do not send me anything to do with it.
Genres I favour - fantasy/sci-fi; mystery; true crime; 'classic'
My favourite authors include - Tamora Pierce; John Mardsen; JK Rowling; Jane Austen; Charlaine Harris; Philip Pullman; Sue Grafton; Janet Evanovich; Sara Paretsky; Agatha Christie; C.S. Lewis; Kate Forsyth; Kathy Reichs; Karin Slaughter
I welcome recommendations!
I have three cats, all of whom I love to pieces.
The one that I've had the longest is Zac. My family adopted him from the Animal Welfare League when he was 7, he's 14 now. When my sister and I moved out of home he came with us, and when she moved out of my house he became mine. He's enormous and ginger and the laziest thing you ever seen. He loves nothing more than spending his days either sleeping in a sunbeam, or on top of myself or my boyfriend.
My other two are recent additions. They both were strays that took up residence under my house, and have since discovered that it is far warmer inside the house. I'm sure the food that we provide helps matters. At best guess they are approx 1 year old.
One has long ginger and white hair, with a white patch on his back that tends to arrange itself into the shape of a loveheart! We call him LK (short for little kitty....its what we called him when we first started to see him around the yard, and it stuck!
The other still doesn't have a name, so we call him either 'littlest kitty' and 'grey kitty'...yeah I know, original.

Hi there! Thought I'd invite you to check out our group The Hundred Acre Wood ...please consider joining when you have completed a few more mailed swaps. No Twilight here. ;)
Hello! I'm Shanell you read my profile pal! Soo I think I can beat your "grey kitty" title. We have 10 strays in our yard. Yes, I said 10. There names are: Big Momma 1 and Big Momma 2. Spotted kitten, Black Kitten, Grey kitten, and The 2 we do not see lol!! Then eight ball and cue ball (I have no clue why we named them this as they are both black and white lol) and Jack. So don't feel bad about your grey kitty lol. Loved the profile!! I too like Charlaine Harris and J.K. Rowling :)
Happy swapping, Shanell
Hello,
I am commenting for the "read your partner's profile..." swap. The overall tone that I got from your profile was a quirky fun person to be around. I especially like the line "The other still doesn't have a name, so we call him either 'littlest kitty' and 'grey kitty'...yeah I know, original." It made me chuckle. Also, I am no Twilight fan either, so kudos. I don't think I ever will be. Are you allowed to have Agave Nectar? It's a wonderful replacement for sugar if you can have it.
Best,
Ari
HI there fellow aussie!! i am leaving a comment for you because of the swap we are both in about reading your partners profile. I too have been diagnosed with diabetes though at this stage I have type 2. reading that they had sugar free oreos made my mouth water! I work in a library so I share your love of books! though i dont get to read much. i also join with your sentiments regarding twilight. ..... I am not a fan either. unfortunately I cant have a pet cat but I enjoyed reading about yours. I can crochet but dont know waht the stitches are called or how to read a pattern so I was interested to hear you were making little animals. how cute!!! i do knit though I am limited to how much I can do at once due to health issues. I t was nice to be able to comment on a fellow aussie's profile. enjoy swap bot you will meet some lovely people here and get some wonderful things. there is a group that is just for aussies if you are interested. send me a message and I will give you the details. that was if you join you can get mail but not always have to pay huge postage costs. have a nice day and happy swapping.

Swap: Read and comment on your partners profile:-)
So, we have a couple things in common. I have three cats also. We got all three when they were kittens from my sister. All three are girls, they are around 6 months old and have been spayed, so now I am gonna try to find homes for them, hopefully. And maybe rescue some more and do that over again:-)
I have never made an amigurumi before but am interested in trying some day. Well, have a great rest of the day!!!
Hugs, Vanessa
