My name is Star, My home will always be Hemet California, but ive lived all over the world and currently in the Midwest! Most of the time i substitute teach, but like most "artists" , I do a variety of jobs so that i can afford to spend most of my time playing or"working" at what i love. I spent several years traveling in the military and have been heavily influenced by ethnic and cultural styles from Europe, and Africa. I love really OLD and rustic stuff! Not midwest americana old, actually i appreciate that also, but Roman, African old! Centuries old! I have a 12 year old creative son who loves to build, deconstruct and tinker with everything. The beautiful man in my life and i are rennovating an 1850's gem of a home. I upcycle, recycle and reuse often. My envelopes come from magazine pages, gift cards from other giftcards, book covers from paper grocery sacks that have been used until unuseable. My only other talent is cooking! I love every kind of food from every region and i love preparing it for others! I was a cook in the Navy, then later worked in a fine dining kithen on the coast and later opened a kitchen in the Midwest. Now i get to feed the stray kids in the neighborhood!

Ive narrowed my field to Unique Portraits and Handmade Books (with handmade paper), often combining the two. For future swappers, I Love images or pieces of anything old, foreign, ethnic, and small, rusty. Did i mention skulls? Cant get enough of them. Ive spent several years working with polaroid transfers and have used them in just about every format. In the past when photographing, printing, painting or drawing i have worked in large format, as large as 20ft X 40ft! As of now, the small format, inparticularly ATC's are my artistic crush! Working small is a GIANT challenge for me!

As you can see i have a (3) rating on my profile. :( Im not sure why exactly. A few weeks ago i sent an apology to my partner Dana Gal (danagal) and asked if she could suggest anything for my future swaps. I really would like for my partners to be happy with their packages. I received no reply. SOOO, in my defence, she had such a small profile, but said she enjoyed making mini albums, which was great, because i do to! I sent a large envelope that included squares of decorative paper (from papersource), inc. hand dyed paper, charms, beads from Africa, dyed mohair, a large vintage photograph on original cardstock, foriegn post cards, Several strands of yarn and binding string (alpaca, mohair and wool), im sure there were more items. I cant remember them all. My point is that i would have loved to receive such an envelope and only wish it could have gone to someone who appreciated its contents. I hope this sets any ones mind at ease that has me for a partner and might be concerned! I also was supprised that my feelings were hurt over somthing so small! As a result, and a desire to keep the fun and good will as part of this cool swap thing, if i receive a package, i give 5's and hearts! Thanks
Im trying to get my ratings up (life after the shameful 3!!) So if you have not received your package PLEASE let me know, i will look into it, I will also email you if i think my sent item might be late, or if i send later than the dead line. Im having to improve my packaging. Ive had two items returned via the post office, but i sent them early enough that it was not an issue and was able to resend with time to spare. Thanks

I saw the 3 on your profile - she should only have given a 3 if you posted it after the deadline - not because she didn't like what you sent... if you sent it on time I would speak with perhaps the moderator on that swap to see what she can do to help you. Sounds like you sent a great package to me.
