When I was a kid and someone asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up, I always said "an artist". After dropping out of art school at 18 and starting a family, creativity took a backseat to practicality and frugality. Well, the time has come to reopen those doors and dust off the old studio. I'm excited to continue my six-year old dreams.
I love to invent things. Some of my inventions have been created by others and put onto shelves before I have the provisional patent application done, but I take that as a sign that I am "on the right track". :)
I'm a hopeless romantic, a big nerd, a bookworm and an optimist. Other than that, I would say I'm okay!
I love Bob Marley, the Dixie Chicks, Katy Perry, Sublime, The Killers, Notorious BIG, Kanye West, MetroStation...
Basically anything without screaming.
I love love love to read. I hardly get the chance to read things that don't rhyme anymore, but when I do, I love to read books by Wally Lamb, Nicholas Sparks, Anita Schreve, and ESPECIALLY Sue Grafton. I literally wait for her alphabet series books to come out, read them in one day and then I have to wait another year before the next one comes out! Why do I do that to myself, I wonder? :)
I love the Notebook because it is a true story in our family. My maternal grandparents have a remarkably similar story and watching the movie gives me goosebumps. I also love the kinds of movies where a bunch of lives are lived separately and suddenly converge. Crash, Love Actually, Seven Pounds, etc.
I hate to admit it, but I love TV. Too much. I love Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares, Project Runway, The Dog Whisperer and House. I also LOVE The Office and The View. I feel like their hot topics portion of the program is the only time during my day that I get "adult conversation"!
I love to make anything. Clothes, art, jewelry, paper airplanes, stained glass, stepping stones, anything I can get my hands on. I love handmade things. The time, effort and care put into every stitch, bead, vase or portrait gives me joy.
I love drawing, painting and sculpting too. Basically everything is a medium if you ask me.
I am SO excited to be a part of this!
To my awesome husband and patient kids. I may not always have the tidiest of spaces or lunch on time, but you are so sweet in letting me work and do the things I love so very much.
