Hello, I am 29 years old. I currently work as the Circulation Supervisor at a Public Library. I served 5 years in the U.S. Marines where I was a weather forecaster. My husband is in the U.S. Coast Guard. I enjoy traveling, though I don't do it as often as I like. I've been to mainland Japan, Okinawa Japan, South Korea, Guam, Thailand, and handful of U.S. States. I graduated from Thomas Edison State University with a BA in Social Science. I currently am attending Drexel University and am studying Library and Information Science.
Handmade things are great to me. I don't always have materials to make things myself (or money to go buy materials), but my mother-in-law makes hundreds of cards a year and gives me tons of them. So I use those a lot, and then her envelopes are plain, so I normally decorate all my envelopes. Recently I've gotten into crafting a bit more. I participate in a local monthly ATC Swap. I enjoy making displays for my library as well. And I've taken up art journaling. I have also taken up some mixed media art as well.
More like favorite authors:
Lynn Flewelling (Night Runner Series, Tamir Triad series),
J.R.R. Tolkien (LotR),
George Martin (Game of Thrones),
Frank Herbert (Dune),
Jane Austen (Pride and Prejudice),
Trudi Canavan (Traitor Spy trilogy and more),
Karen Miller (Godspeaker Series and more),
Robert Jordan (Wheel of Time),
Terry Goodkind (Sword of Truth),
Amelia Atwater-Rhodes,
the list is endless....
I also read a ton of fanfiction on AO3.
I enjoy nature, gardening, and hiking. I love trees, rocks, crystals, leaves, flowers.
I do a lot of reading, drawing, painting, sewing, any sort of crafts really. I am really into digital art, but sadly I'm still learning how to art well. XD
Anime and Manga are a huge part of my interests, and a large portion of my life (that's really about all that is on my Tumblr)
I also play tons of video games. Mass Effect is probably my favorite video game series ever. I cried at the end of ME3.
I spent 2 years living in Japan, and I love Japanese culture, food, clothes, items, and so on.
I love any and all cultures though, I've often felt like the American culture I was raised in wasn't really a culture in the sense other places have culture. If that makes any sense.
I love stickers. Any stickers. All stickers are awesome.
I enjoy learning about people in general (hence my social science degree).
Spicy food. I went to Thailand for a month, and I came back a changed person (well, my tastebuds were different).
I do not like seafood, it makes me ill even though I think it looks super tasty.
Cigarette smoke is bad, I spent years being forced to be in it all the time, and now I'm free and I'd rather not smell it ever.
Bright pink as a main color of anything is atrocious to my eyes. I don't mind it being part of something, I know a lot of kawaii things are pink and I don't mind that, just please don't blind me with pink colors. There are other colors just as cute out there.
Poor communication. Not sure it really applies here, but please don't ever hold anything back, but don't necessarily be aggressive.
Strangely I don't feel as if I have a lot of dislikes when it comes to things. Most things I dislike aren't concrete, so it's difficult to fill this portion out. If there is something specific you can always ask. :)
