I am an RN currently working in AZ with the Navajo people. I am in a very remote area and a long way from family, so getting mail is a very exciting proposition. I am continuing my mother's tradition of writing letters, and write many letters and postcards to my children, grandchildren, and friends.
I have a Cherokee heritage and I love all things Native American. Turquoise is my favorite jewelry, and teal my favorite color. I love Southwestern art and style.
I have family in Europe, have been there once and hope to go again soon. Would love to make more friends internationally.
Of course, number one are my grandchildren! I have 13, all within the last three years. : )
I also love mountains, the West, camping, wilderness hiking, kayaking, National Parks, and exploring new places and meeting new people.
I love roses and wine. I hope to grow a rose garden next spring.
I have been called a "granola girl", and am not usually into the latest fads or trends. I don't watch TV, but do like a good movie.
My favorite movies of all time are Anne of Green Gables and Anne of Avonlea. I also love Mamma Mia and Sound of Music. I love period movies and dramas.
Quilting is my passion, and I make quilts of all kinds: wall hangings, baby quilts, full size. Hand and machine applique, and piecing. I love fabrics, especially batiks. Fabrics are my palette, and I always have many projects going at once.
I am interested in developing some new art, especially drawing and painting. I just folded my first origami and I am learning to scrapbook with Sn@p books.
I love to read and read all the time. One of my favorite books was Kite Runner, but my tastes run into many genres. I find that truth is often better than fiction, and love reading people's real life stories.
