September 2019
Yippee the kitchen is almost done! We are no longer cooking dinner on a hot plate. Sliding glass door is in, maybe next spring my deck will be built.
I’ve discovered junk journals and think I am in love with making them out of little golden books. I’ve acquired a nice collection of books but am always looking for different titles. I’m willing to trade so message me if you are looking for a particular title. Currently I’m looking for Christmas titles
I have more craft supplies unpacked, including the sewing machine so time to start sewing curtains!
March 2019 I still don’t have all my craft supplies unpacked. I hope I get to my ATC supplies soon so I can join some ATC swaps :)
January 2019 Another update We Moved in August and everything went in storage (yikes!) as we remodeled. We bought a small ranch with many needed updates, but we fell in love with the acres of a partially wooded yard...it’s like having my own park. Meanwhile we are still remodeling since we both work full time we only get a little bit done each day. We are almost done with the kitchen which is our biggest project of all since we knocked down walls and made it bigger! (It was 11x14 before we started)!
So I’m unpacking a few boxes and doing a few swaps, but can’t wait to get my craft room put back together so I can do many more.
Meanwhile I’m learning all about small town living and the small post office! But I still work near a 24 hour self serve one, so there shouldn’t be too much of an issue unless we get totally snowed in which means I’ll be crafting more :)
May 14, 2018 I’ll be mia for a while.... All my swaps are sent. If you didn’t get, message me. Meanwhile the move is happening...as soon as we find a house. Odds are it will be a fixer upper so my craft stuff will be the last unpacked. I might still join an occasional swap....but once we are settled I’ll be back full steam! I still have some RAK packages to go out...just waiting to get more stuff sorted/packed.
Just an update:
I am a bargain shopper. I will often include cute stickers or trinkets that I find for a bargain with my swaps. I try to always include extras. If you already have what I send, please share with someone else. I may end up sending you the same extras, I don't really keep track of what I send, I just check the profile, if I have something that works for your profile, you get it, if not, I try to send something with the current season or holiday. Sometimes I just send some extras that I want you to enjoy.
I'm only sharing this information because when I find a good deal, I buy all of it!!! So I might end up sending the same person the same extras, not on purpose, just because I have the extras to share. Please enjoy them.
I love to craft, laugh and make friends...no particular order. I recently joined the empty nest club but still get my "kid fix" when the grandkids come visit. I learned about crafting as a child. When we wanted something that we didn't have, we made it. We made up games to play, cutting up grocery bags (when they still used paper) to make game boards and pieces. We used our imagination. My first craft that I can remember was making mud pies behind a neighbors garage after a rain storm. I got the idea to use dandelions to put icing on our pies and called them cakes instead of pies. I never did get into cake decorating though. Maybe because the first ones I made never tasted good!
I discovered my love for paper crafting after watching an infomercial on the cricut. Of course I had to have one. So my small box of crafting supplies eventually moved me into my daughter's room when she left for college!
I love papers. I collect papers. I want to share my papers, so I sure hope for some paper swaps...or RAK looking for paper.
I mostly do paper crafts but enjoy other crafts. Anytime I can create something, I'm happy. I enjoy sewing but not clothes. I also enjoy wood craft projects.
This past year my projects including painting Halloween signs, fence post snowmen, handmade napkins, handmade body pillow, a picture frame from an old window, hand painted Mario wine glasses....the list goes on and on.
This year for Christmas we decided to do a Home Made Christmas, which gave me reason to craft! I am already looking for ideas for next year.
I like anything travel related. I like to take road trips with friends where laughter is plenty and sleep is optional. I'm always looking for new travel stickers, GPS, road signs, etc.
I also like warm fuzzy socks, chocolate (Dove or Lindt are my faves!). My favorite scent is Peppermint and I usually have a candle or scentsy going that smells like peppermint. Bath and Body sells my favorite, "Twisted Peppermint". I also like fruit scents. I do not like strong flower smells...except for the lilac...my favorite flower.
I don't like politics, religion (except when crafting prayer journals or sympathy cards) or personal preferences to get in the way of my friendships.
I love my family....husband, 6 kids and 2 grandkids. plus the extended family that includes in laws, siblings, my father, aunts and uncles and cousins. I also love my friends. I've been blessed with a large group of people that I care about that care about me. If you don't have a friend, I'll be your friend. There's nothing more important in life than having someone that brings out the best in you.
I don't like MEAN people.
I Love everything Disney. The movies, the princesses, the amusement parks and most of all the mouse! I grew up watching reruns of Annette and the other mousketeers!
I love making envelopes using Disney paper, because I know if I got mail in my mailbox like that it would make me smile...so I hope I can make you smile.
My travels have taken me to many states. As a child our vacations were always camping near home in Ohio, or an occasional trip to Pennsylvania to camp. When I was lucky enough to score a job that required some traveling I was amazed. Of course most of the trip was work, but I tried to see one thing from the area I was at. I got to visit the CN tower in Toronto, Ruby Falls in Tennessee, visited Nashville, the Beaches in Virginia, and some beautiful green-space in Syracuse New York. (there was also the crazy trip west that had me passing many adult establishments...glad I only went there once!) The internet killed that job....but later the internet brought me geocaching, a fun hobby of high tech treasure hunting. You can find out more at Geocaching.com.
With geocaching I learned more about the United States. At first the trips were usually just weekend long. We took a trip to Traverse City in Michigan so we could visit Power Island. We later headed East to Pennsylvania, passing through Hershey and working our way to Centrelia, the town on fire.
I took my first IRRATIONAL road trip a few years ago! We went to St. Charles, Missouri by way of Manatoba Canada. We visited the Field of Dreams, the Buddy Holly crash site, Mount Rushmore, Pikes Peak, Garden of the Gods and my favorite Devils Tower. (brought me to tears!)
More trips included Flying out to Sacramento to follow the Pony Express back to St. Joseph, Missouri, Down to Tennessee to watch the MOON block the SUN - took us 12 hours to make the 7 hour trip home!!!! I think half of the US was there that weekend! Can't wait for it to pass through Cleveland in a few years!
Another crazy trip had us travel the 14 hours across Newfoundland and Labrador. It was a site of NOTHING! and I'll never go back, but I can say I was there!
Unfortunately my travels must be put on hold for a year (I'll be back to travels in 2019) due to my husband getting both knees replaced.
So if you are a goecaching, send me a friend request, we can share geocaching stories!
I like country music...mostly stuff from the past 20 years. I also like rock and pop. I don't like heavy metal, rap or anything too old...unless it's Sinatra! I prefer upbeat music. Journey, Taylor Swift, Boston, Miranda Lambert, The Boss, Phil Collins, Wham!....the list is never ending and all over the board! I listen to music when I'm working, crafting and I even like to have music in the shower. Music tends to relax me, and when I'm crafting some good music and watch out...the possibilities are endless.
