I'm independent, curious, and creative. Usually, I'm very private and need plenty of time alone to think things through and work on subjects and projects that really interest me. I tend to have a very small cluster of close, trusted friends and don't initiate social activities very often unless I'm really comfortable. I enjoy learning new things and since I consider myself pretty imaginative, I also like coming up with original solutions to problems. When it comes to repetition, I get bored fairly quickly, but then again, who doesn't?
I'm also a super logical person, and I think my best strength is being able to remain calm and cool in almost any situation. Because I'm bothered by unfairness and inconsistency, I'm rarely influenced by other people's opinions, especially if there's some sort of emotional backing to their argument. I speak my mind honestly, if sometimes, a bit bluntly.
Above all, I strive to exceed my own high standards rather than worry about trying to please others, so I'm always competing with myself.
Even my family and closest friends usually don't know how much I care about them because I rarely share my most private feelings. I guess that's because I think showing emotion is just a way of making yourself vulnerable for attack. If I could, I would wear sunglasses all the time. The eyes are the windows to your soul and, truthfully, I don't want anybody looking into my soul.
I easily see both sides of an issue, so I'm great at finding the flaws in other people's arguments. Usually, if I find something I really like, I'll just get up and do it right then. But sometimes my relaxed attitude about deadlines and neatness can make me run late and procrastinate.
I try to find humor in everything, and I can't be offended. So if you don't know what to write on a letter or postcard, just put a joke on there.
I don't listen to music very much, but I do like "A Thousand Foot Crutch" and "Cute is what we aim for." I guess I'm willing to listen to anything that's good. No screamo though, I can't stand that, or anything of that type.
This is tough, but, I'll have to say: The Hunger Games series, The Reckoning, Water for Elephants, and Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance.
I LOVE documentaries! I've seen so many good movies, but my two favorites are Inception and Frequency.
I don't have TV at my place. But my three favorite tv shows are The X-Files, South Park, and Golden Girls.
I've been officially collecting postcards for a year. I have all kinds of postcards through out my collection, from zombies, to polar bears, so while I love all postcards, my favorite are black and white portraits.
I want to try collecting state postcards, so if you're not from: Colorado, New Mexico, Alabama, California, or Kansas, then please do send a postcard of the state you live in!
Would I prefer a black and white portrait over a state postcard? Yes, but black and white portraits are a lot harder to find, so feel free to just send a state one.
I'm always willing to do a private swap for postcards, so just message me anytime.
If you received mail from me, know that I have a lot of fun when I write. So try to understand my sense of humor, and please don't take offense (though I don't see that happening... you'll be surprised). Yes, I can be a little eccentric with my writing, but I'll do whatever to make a card/letter/postcard unique.
• Candles
• Postcards
• Letters
• Letters that have drawings on the envelope
• Tourist T-shirts (I’m Mens: Small). So like a T-shirt that says the name of the state/city it came from.
• I think one of the bets gifts you can receive is a shirt that’s made JUST for you, like one made on the t-shirt designing web sites, or even hand-made t-shirts that are clearly made with you in mind.
• I absolutely love cards and letters that are very original. So it can be handmade, or a message that’s really crazy, random, or personal (but still understandable). I’ll keep it forever.
• Gummy candy and Chewy candy
•The smell of tobacco
•Cards and letters with general messages like, “Happy (fill in holiday name here), have fun, best wishes, be safe, “ Basically, if you replaced my name with somebody else’s name, and gave them the card, would they believe that it’s theirs?
•Chocolate by itself, something like 3 musketeers is fine, because it’s not JUST chocolate.
•Black Licorice
•Hard candy (with the exception of Jolly Ranchers)

sorry, should have mentioned that was for 'read my profile'.
I can be too blunt too and I also have a small group of close friends. I am also logical and calm in difficult situations, since I am a Registered Nurse it's a good thing. For instance, when my son got suddenl very sick, I was totally calm calling 911, it wasn't until I was sure they were coming that I started to cry acting like a 'regular' mom. I've been wanting to see Inception so I'm glad you liked it.

I enjoyed reading your profile. I almost always end letters and notes with best wishes from Debra. lol I am going to work on being more personal with my sign offs after reading your profile page. I mean it when I say it but after looking at it the way you see it I want to change it. I don't send greeting cards. I like that you write and speak honestly. That is refreshing. I strive for the same way. I also enjoy a lot of quiet time and if I don't get enough I get grumpy. After reading your profile page, I made a wish that I might get to receive one of your postcards. Candles and postcards I like a lot. I no longer enjoy writing letters but enjoy reading them. I haven't read any of the books you listed but I read a lot. I miss the X-files. I enjoyed reading your profile, best wishes, Debra (TexyDeb)
Ha ha ha, gotcha... I think I would like to meet you and just by reading your profile I am going to try harder in my note writing on my postcards to be better at ending them, Deb

Hello! I am one of your partners from the Read my Profile and post a comment swap.
I see you live in Colorado! That's one place I've never been. Do you ever ski? It's been snowing here at my home in Missouri for 24 hours now. We love it when we get snow; especially my son who hasnt had school for the last two days.
I have a small postcard collection that is ever growing. I love crafting all different kinds of things and am always trying something new, because I get bored too easy doing the same thing over and over.
I hope you have a quality day!
