My name is Christine, I'm 34 years old and I'm from Germany, I live in a small village somewhere south of Munich. I'm a creative person stuck in a boring job, so I have to find other ways to live out my creative side. I have a degree in architecture which probably wasn't the best idea I ever had, but well...I chose a different line of work and now I'm trying to make the best of it.
Usually I always have some kind of diy-project going on (or am searching for new ideas and inspiration). At the moment I'm searching for a screen printing class and I also want to give sewing another try. I love photography, drawing and I'm always eager to learn new crafts.
Wanderlust is a serious issue for me, I love to travel. So far I've been to Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Italy, Vatican, Slowenia, Croatia, Greece, Turkey, Malta, Spain, Portugal, France, Czech Republic, UK, Sweden, Finland, Ireland, the Netherlands, Denmark, USA, Canada, China, Sri Lanka, India, Morocco, Vietnam and Indonesia. Traveling makes me happy, I love to learn more about other cultures.
I am a weird person. I often stumble upon my own feet, I always accidentally lock up doors when I'm in fact trying to open them (always, every day!), before entering a plane I have to pet the outside of the door and I kinda believe that my plush toys (of course I still have some!) have a soul. I talk to animals all the time but humans are usually another topic. Introverted attention whore, realistic dreamer, a libertine and the mistress of chaos. :)
Drawing - I'm fascinated with skeletons, skulls, bones...after all it's the foundation of (nearly) every living being. Sometimes I need to learn how to master water color paintings as well.
Photography - I mostly like "weird" and unusual shots. Macro photography for example is fascinating, or the light painting stuff. Lost places are always a favorite and I like odd pictures. When it comes to photoshop...a little is fine, but I absolutely hate it if people are retouching the soul out of a pic just because they're searching for perfection. There is no such thing as perfection.
DIY - I tried a lot of stuff, printing with Lumi Inkodye, working with concrete, making jewellery but more beads and whatnot. Maybe some book binding as well? When it comes to craft you just can't try enough!
I loooove music, especially rock, metal, gothic, alternative but also some classical music (recently went to a night of film music and it was simply amazing, having an orchestra playing the theme of "Das Boot"...goosebumps!).
Some favorite bands are: Five finger death punch, misfits, rancid, in this moment, broilers, edguy, metallica, avenged sevenfold, disturbed, tanzwut, marilyn manson, rammstein, saltatio mortis, nirvana, him, end of green, korn...
Yeah, alright, I confess: I have a book-problem...I'm addicted. Mostly I read thrillers/horror but also some novels or popular science books. (still have to finish that Stephen Hawking-book...but maybe that wasn't the right choice for relaxing at the beach...)
Some favorite authors are: Stephen King, Cody McFadyen, Haruki Murakami, Tana French, Irvin D. Yalom, David Sedaris, David Foster Wallace (Infinite Jest - that I can recommend for relaxing on the beach...if you have serious stamina and don't mind carrying a brick around...), Gregory David Roberts, Sebastian Fitzek, John Katzenbach, Michael Hjorth & Hans Rosenfeldt...
Likes: stationery, masking tape, embossing powders, weird/unusual stickers, drawings, gothic, design, creepy/macabre stuff, black/white photography, skulls, skeletons, anatomic drawings, black humor, occult drawings, eyeliner, octopus (in drawings/pictures etc., not on my plate)...
Dislikes: overly cute stuff, Anne Geddes etc (I'm really not fond of baby photos, so please keep them for somebody who appreciates them). Also I'm not religious and I think being an atheist is the right choice for me, so I'm not really open for people who are trying to "bring me to the right path". I hate marzipan, licorice and I'm not a fan of cinnamon. Also I have a huge collection of tea so I can't possibly drink all that, so unless the swap calls for it please don't send tea.
