hello! i'm Jeff and i live in Baton Rouge, Louisiana with my wife Sara. we have four, count 'em, four kids between us and it can get pretty crazy when we're all under one roof!
i work full time as the Search marketing Manager for ShoppersChoice.com, which involves making sure our websites rank well in the search engines, but my true passion is writing, especially poetry and you can see some of my work at the "My Website" link above.
along with writing I enjoy making hot-process soap, painting, reading, exercising and hanging out with my dog, shadow. i dislike television but love movies and know way too much about pop culture (which i despise).
i think letter writing is a lost art form and it makes me sad...
i like the beach and staring at the moon while thinking about nothing in particular and everything all at once...
if you want to become a good friend quick talk to me about philosophical concepts and ideas without sounding like an over-educated butthole...
i'm looking forward to learning more about this whole swap-bot thing and have been looking for an avenue to meet new, interesting people and maybe get some great pen pals along the way...
i really like most music, with the exception of techno and new country (not the good stuff, i.e. willie nelson/johnny cash)...
i grew up during the whole grunge thing so i am rather partial to that genre...
i am very passionate about music and have this theory that music comes in 20-25 year cycles and hasn't been all that great since the mid-nineties (so we are ripe for something great any time now) - i would be happy to go into detail about this theory, if you are interested just ask...
man...i will read anything and usually read two to three books at a time...
my favorite subjects are anything from the beat generation (especially jack kerouac), poetry, philosophy and history (american...especially the wild west) and quirky fiction (i decide what's quirky)...
favorite published authors include jack kerouac, charles bukowski, henry david thoreau, chuck klosterman, neil gaiman, dean koontz and well, there are a lot, however, i am always interested in reading unpublished and off-beat writers (you should check out the writers cafe (www.writerscafe.org))...
the big lebowski, true grit (the new one), snatch, clerks, high fidelity, what about bob?, pulp fiction, fight club, the rocky series, almost famous, stranger than fiction, eternal sunshine of the spotless mind, etc...etc...etc..
favorite actors include: jeff bridges, jimmy stewart, john malkovich, brad pitt (don't judge me - he's been in a LOT of good movies), edward norton, john cusack,
i like to draw, paint and make soap...i am interested in wood working but have not really dived into it yet...
i use acrylics, charcoal and pastels mostly when i do put things on paper...
mostly i write...mostly poetry and short stories...

I know I'm a bit early, but just wanted to wish you a very happy birthday! Hope your day as well as your year totally rocks! :o)
You're welcome - thanks for checking out my blog! I appreciate the compliments, and I hope you can find all kinds of great examples (and exchanges?) with proof that letter-writing is at least still breathing.
Letter writing is not a lost art form!

i've been to davenport once. i don't remember it at all, though i remember crossing the river and feeling rather insignificant.
