I am a Christian and I love how God has blessed my life. I realize that not everyone on here shares the same beliefs as I do, but just so you know, I do not get offended when you send me things that aren't Christian based. I still like reading about and art that includes, fairies, witches, mythical creatures and the like. So no need to worry about that with what you send me.
Although I work in receiving in a retail store, unloading trucks everyday, I did go to college and get a degree in graphic design and multimedia. So my passion is really in art. I worked for a software company for awhile doing programming before I got laid off and ended up changing career paths. I often wonder how I ended up in retail when I had put so much money, effort and time into art. God works in funny ways sometimes.
In my spare time I paint and make cards and do quilling and sell them at craft fairs. I have designed my own quilling patterns and I have published 2 quilling craft books that can be found on Amazon. I also design digital stamps and I have created a couple of websites to sell them and share them (as well as on Etsy). The links to my sites are listed above.
In addition to the 2 craft books I have published, I have also published 2 other books and I am in the process of writing more. I also edit and create book covers for my dad's books as well.
I am very much an animal person. We currently have 2 cats and 3 ferrets in the house. I lost my dog of 17 and a half years in January of 2019 and I miss him dearly. In the past we have had lizards, mice, a guinea pig, a sugar glider, fish, newts and I am sure other critters that I have since forgotten about by now. We have even raised baby squirrels for the Wildlife Society one year. That was a great experience!
I am looking forward to meeting new people here and exchanging ideas and crafts and things. I am hoping to have alot of fun with this!
The latest and newest one is Needle Felting! Love it!
Also, I am currently doing card making, quilling, iris folding, rubber stamping, digital stamping, and painting.
In the past I have done and enjoyed cross stitching, beading/jewellery making, puppet making, rug hooking and other assorted crafts. It's been awhile for most of those because I have been so busy with my paper crafts. I do intend to get back to them one day. However, I keep finding more and more things that I want to try.
My taste in music is pretty varied.
My main love is techno and dance music. Tiesto is one of my favourite DJs.
But I also like NIN, Amy Grant, Becca Shae, Tori Amos, Coldplay, Michael Martin Murphy, Neil Young, Louis Armstrong, Tom Petty, ......see, quite varied! I wasn't kidding.
I absolutely can't stand rap music or hip-hop. And I only tolerate most country music. There are some exceptions though. I do like a tiny bit of country.
My favourite author is Terry Pratchett. I love the way he takes common place things and does spoofs on them. His books are delightfully funny and very entertaining. I highly recommend anything from his disc world series. I would start with "The colour of Magic" though so that you get a good introduction to at least some of his main characters.
So many good movies to choose from, but I must say that "Pay It Forward" has always stuck out for me. If everyone could do this, the world would be a much better place to live.
I really like the Harry Potter movies, Lord of the Rings movies and K-Pax too.
I can't stand Rap music...as far as I am concerned it was invented for those who can't sing or dance.
I don't like onions or fake lemon flavour (but I will eat a real lemon any day!)
I am not fond of Paisley patterns or anything overly flowery (don't get me wrong... I like simple flower patterns, just not "you can't see the forest for the trees" overgrown flowery).
I dislike big, baubley jewelery....like the flowers, small and simple is better.
I prefer silver over gold and I prefer saphires over diamonds.
I dislike the muddy, pukey colour greens and yellows, the kind that is often associated with "vintage". (Just to clarify, I do like most vintage images. It's just that colour scheme I don't like).
Paper, paper, and more paper! I love looking through all the pretty designs and colours. I could spend a fortune (and probably have) on buying different kinds of patterned paper and cardstock. I get inspired just by looking through them.
I love animals of all sorts. I usually have a mini zoo at home.
My imagination is taken away by all things fairy, dragon, gnomes, elves..... pretty much anything from the ceilly and unceilly court.
I love the mysteriousness behind unknown creatures such as Sasquatch and Loch Ness Monster.
I am inspired by God's works of art in the sun, the moon, the stars, and all of nature. I am thankful He has given me a touch of creativity and an eye for beauty and art. But with each sunrise, sunset and butterfly I am reminded that I will never be the great artist that He is. And so I am content to just marvel and enjoy His masterpieces.
My personal rules for people sending late is "you don't get any rating at all until I receive something" (Unless it is evident that you have completely abandoned your swaps and swapbot in general). I don't often give out ones.....and so far no threes either.
I am pretty laid back about it really. It will get here when it gets here and if it doesn't then it doesn't. I've got better things to do than to sit around and fret over whether something shows up in my mail box or not. I may be disappointed if I was looking forward to something, but hey.....life goes on. Some things are just out of our control. Don't get me wrong.... I do appreciate it when you let me know if you are going to be late. I just don't go over the deep end about it when it happens.
I am just as happy doing the sending as I am the receiving, which is also why I like to do angel swaps that I have nothing to do with from time to time.

Hi there,I am going way back and tracking the origins and destinations of my swaps. Can you please tell me your city/state? We did a Discworld swap back in '11. I have your amazing mini-Luggage and love it. It currently houses prop teeth from the set of Hogfather. :)
I just shared your Gel Pen ATC swap on the Swap-bot blog here. Thanks for hosting it!
I'm sorry It took me so long to get back to you. With the storm we had, I was out of power for 5 days. Thank you so much for angeling the Username #2 Swap. :) I loved the ATC.
Thanks for angeling the username atc for me !! I loved it !!!!
Best wishes for your nephews. Keeping the spirit up can make a huge difference in any rehab!
I just stopped by to thank you for signing up for "3 buttons and a frog". I hope we can all have some fun with the wordplay. ( if that appeals I am also hosting two "Wordplay ATC" swaps, one on 'da blues' and one for 'half-baked'.)
Dana - Give a big kiss to Miss Priss! Clementine loves her cat toys. I've never seen this type before - all the little mice we have for sale around here are very lightweight. She loves how substantial they are. I've found them all over the house in the past two days since they arrived. What a sweet, thoughtful thing to do - particularly since they arrived on a not-so-great day for me. Thank you! Ande
