I am a 21-year-old girl, living in the Netherlands and am at the moment in my second year of college and study English Language and Culture. After this, I hope to get into teacher training and start teaching English at a local high-school.
That's still years off, though.
I live with my parents, younger sister, two budgies, two love birds and one very active seven-year-old blond labrador. If you're my swap partner and want to send something for my dog please don't as he demolishes all his toys except for some stuff dad made and due to him not being cared for properly before we got him he needs a very stable diet without new treats, the last time someone gave him a treat he wasn't used to he ended up with a very bad itch and scratched himself until he bled and other times he threw up all over the living room.
One of my favourite things to do is playing Sims 2. I love seeing what kind of mayhem I can inflict on my digital minions (alien abduction for the win!) and breed them to make pretty offspring. Or not so pretty offspring. They're like little inept creatures that will burn the house down given the slightest chance.
I have also been officially diagnosed with dyscalculia. If you don't know it: it's a learning disability that has to do with math, very basically put, but also affects people in other ways like remembering names and the way to places. I was diagnosed at 18 because I thought it was strange that no matter what I did I failed constantly at math while passing everything else without any preperation. It got to the point where I studied for days and still got none of the answers right. My teacher didn't believe me when I told him that the explanation just wouldn't stick in my head. Luckily a previous teacher did back me up, tutored me for free one-on-one and she is the reason I graduated from secondary school.
If you haven't sent to the Netherlands before my address might seem a bit weird so I thought I'd put a note here with the format Dutch addresses are like.
Line 1: First Name and Surname
Line 2: Street and Street number
Line 3: postal code of 4 numbers and 2 letters and the city
Line 4: Country
I hope this helps, if it doesn't PM me.
My taste in music is all over the place. I like Racoon, A Balladeer, Dar Williams, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Jeff Buckley, Warren Zevon, Sarah Brightman to name a few.
Oh dear, I like so many things. Knitting, making things with paper (except that bridge in secondary school, don't ask) I'm willing to try my hand at just about anything.
