About me: I live in Cheshire, England with my two dogs, one cat, three hens, and two fish.
Favourite media: depends on my mood and the project:- watercolour paints and pencils, acrylic paint, pencils, inks, glitter, mica.... etc.
Favourite animals: any that don't come too close!
Favourite time of the day: early morning.
Favourite time of the year: the first day of snow.
Postcards: If it's handmade and likely to spoil in the post please put it in an envelope.
I like handmade items. I prefer a handmade postcard to a commercially printed one, for example.
I always send so if you've not received your swap please contact me before rating me a 1. It is only polite to do so. Items sometimes get lost in the post which is beyond my control.
Dislike: kawaii, Hello Kitty and things like that, Disney,
favourite books: I bought the 'Gone' series of books for my teenage boys to read and decided to have a little peek at them to see what they were like and I just couldn't put them down! I might even read the whole lot again.
I like books about art, science, and picture books.
I managed to read Gormangast which was quite an achievement - a big book with no pictures!
Favourite colours: all of them I think! It depends on my mood and the item. My living room is a restful gentle green, the dining room is a pale yellowish brown, the kitchen is green, bathroom purple, my room is rather boring magnolia but I have lots of coloured patchwork quilts, DS1's room is blue and DS2's room is black and white.
Favourite foods: almost everything! Nice tender beef well cooked, fish, all veg but not those awful bobbley things that look like cucumber but are very astringent, all fruits except persimons. I don't eat much sweet stuff but like rose Turkish Delight, Matchmakers with bits in, and shortbread. I absolutely hate oysters.
Favourite crafts:My very top most favourite craft changes all the time. It depends on what lovely resource I've found. At the moment quilting is the favourite, but it could change to sock knitting next week, or jewelry, papercraft, wire work, vials, postcards, ATCs or who knows what!
I am a member of my local quilting group and my house is groaning under the weight of fabric. I make a lot of mug rugs for my friends to treat as semi-disposable and have loads of mug rugs so I don't need any more thanks ;) . My favourite fabrics are the 1930's feedbags type prints and American Civil War prints. I challenge myself to use every scrap and have made a couple of scrappy quilts which remind me of the quilts I've made for other people.
I got some wool for felting for Christmas and I've not even opened the packets - just drooled over the gorgeous wools. Good thing they are all in plastic bags!
Brusho crystals are my latest passion.
Posting : Please note I send swaps by the cheapest postage and it can take up to 42 days to get to the USA, although I've found it is usually much less. If you haven't received your swap, please be patient.
STRING QUILT: I like novelty fabrics.
