About Me

I'm a special education teacher in Edinburgh, Scotland. I love cats, running, and reading. I live by the sea; this makes me happy! I love afternoon tea, making extravagant cakes for friends, shopping in thrift shops, pretending to be a pirate and reading fairytales.

My thrift store addictions are fairytale books and artwork, costume jewelry, any nautical items, things from the sea, anything which involve the themes of skulls and crossbones and pirates, swallows, butterflies or moths. I love silk scarves, vintage penguin paperbacks, and swords!

Favorite Music

I love songs which tell stories and am a big fan of lots of genres! Currently listening to lots of folk like Rachel Unthank and the Winterset but perennial favourites are Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, Joni Mitchell, Bjork, Leonard Cohen and lots of bad, loud, rock!

Favorite Books

My favourite novelists are probably Neil Gaiman, Susanna Clarke (next novel please!) A.S. Byatt and Charles Dickens. Am currently loving "Wolf Hall". I read lots of poetry and research on Autism too.

Favorite Movies

Fairytales, ghost stories, Studio Ghibli, pirate movies, Hitchcock, and Audrey Hepburn!
