Hello! I'm Pattie. Welcome to my profile.
Before I say anything, thank you. A big thanks to everyone who has swapped with me. The quality of people I have had the pleasure of interacting with is amazing. Thank you and may all your swaps net you hearts. ^__^
Second thing! If the swap you send me is smoky I WILL throw it out.
Third thingie! Please please please DO combine swaps if you have more than one to send to me. While getting lots of mail is fun, saving money for more swaps is funner.
And finally, regarding postage due swaps. If I receive something postage due, I will refuse it. I ask you to please do the same, i.e. if you get a swap from me, with postage due, refuse it. I take 95% of my mail to the post office and if it's something I had weighed, and is now postage due, I wanna discuss it with the postmaster. Thank you, and I apologize should this actually happen.

Very random things I like in no real order: the wife, anything with an ancient history feel, mythology, Surrealism, comparative religion, Halloween, British and Japanese folklore, the Goetia, Star Trek, kitsune, old maps, pumpkins, bees, statuary, Peeps, stickers, images of raw meat, C9 Christmas lights, stationery, Betty Page, crabs, the Uffington White Horse, Takashi Murakami, conversation hearts, the Mahabharata, cheese, archaeology, pork, purple, Tarot, honey, driving, cemeteries, Doctor Who, vacuuming, fonts, Liz Taylor, vintage Jell-O cookbooks, Cryptozoology, clouds, Sailor Moon, bellydancing, alchemy, holidays and observances (the older, the better), horses, Mansai Nomura...
I look forward to the day when people spell my name right. ^__^
I think hosting is hugely important and I don't enter into the task lightly. I cull as I go, with a final sweep before assigning partners, so that you can see, at a glance, the people you will potentially be swapping with. I always angel my swaps should a flaker slip by, and I apologize in advance if that happens. I will do my do-diligence, keeping my standards absurdly high so the risk is as low as I can make it.
I do not host, or join, profile based swaps because, frankly, I suck at them. Senders' choice is how I roll. I will also, 99.9% of the time, have the sign up end on a Saturday so that I assign partners on Sunday giving swappers all day to get their swap together for a Monday mailing. =D
Like hosting, I view owning a group as a responsibility not to be taken lightly. Which is not to say I'm not eager to have fun. I obsessively check my groups to approve any pending members because I know that I hate waiting.
TL;dr favorite colors are purple and pink. I lust after kawaii ghosts, anything Alice in Wonderland, and kawaii food (especially with faces, ESPECIALLY with arms and legs!) I prefer stickers over memos. Stickers, stickers, stickers!!
I adore “coupons,” die cuts, and oddly shaped memos.
Things I dislike are: Children (in all forms), birds, pandas, hmm…. guess that’s it. Oh, and I don’t do letter sets. It's not that I dislike them, they're just too fussy to mail.
The basics are: I love papercraft. If there's paper involved, I'm totally there! And it's like an illness! lol@me I'll buy paper just to look at it. To possess it. It must be MINE! Bwahahahahahaaaa!
(Themes I can't pass on: Anything historic, mythic, Halloween! color related, involving quotes, Asian, holiday, literary, postage stamps and food)
People have said for years I'm a good cook and frankly, I think anyone can be a good cook...you just have to pick good recipes, the rest is simply following directions.
(My comfort food is forever Indian. All my friends share this fate.)
I have combined these two loves in what is known in my immediate circles as the Magic Cookbook. Think, very usable scrapbook. There will be blood spilled for possession of this blibit when I die.
(This is where my love of stickers really shine! I tend toward food themes - obviously - Japanese and kawaii, holiday related, anime, and celestial. I avoid like the plague Disney and cats.) (And BTW, stickers, stickers, stickers! Sheets, cut from sheets, flake...I love 'em all.)
I love to travel, and my favorite destinations are England and Japan. I love Bronze, Iron and Roman Age Britain. All my pictures of England are rocks and grass. I can spot a tumulus a mile off in a moving car and snap a picture without swerving into oncoming traffic. I have mad driving skills over there.
In Tokyo it's ALL about the shopping. It's a paper-lovers dream. Flying halfway around the world to buy paper has come to feel natural at this point. I'm a big Inari fan and visiting shrines is tied with shopping.
(I'm an anime and manga fan, as well as Q-lia and Crux products. I'm helpless before food with a face drawn on!)
Been there... France, Prague, Austria, Amsterdam, Norway, Sweden, Egypt, Scotland. And closer to home, done that... Central and South America, with the usual coterie of states thrown in.
We're big anime and manga fans in this house. The wife founded Yuricon and writes Okazu so there's always something new to discuss. Aside from SM, I'm a huge SAO fan, and we're looking forward to season two of My Next Life as a Villianess (Team Mary!!) Feel free to PM me if you wanna gush over your fav anime/manga. I'll be happy to gush back. ;-)
PERFECT is the enemy of GOOD.
Voltaire
People with no boundaries who feel the need to over-share and/or use their personal problems as excuses.
(More specifically I don't like Diddl, Disney, Peanuts, Winnie the Pooh (what is a pooh anyway?), celebrities, alcohol, smoking, Suzie's Zoo, Precious Moments, Snow Babies, zombies, clowns, and 99% of the shows on TV.)
(I'm also learning to dislike people who don't send their swaps out...) (Or perhaps I should say I hate people who send out their swaps on the last day. I know, I know, that's what a deadline is for, yaddi yaddi, there's no need to preach to me, but I seriously think that if you've joined a swap --with no craft element involved-- there is NO reason to not send it out within days of the swap date. Feel free to think I'm a sanctimonious bitch. I'm good with that.)

I'm following your packing strategy and taking my old running shoes to Amsterdam - and leaving them behind. Room for wooden shoes? I think not but there are plenty of other goodies!
Thank you for the RAK! Love seeing the goodies you picked up in Japan! Thanks for sharing!
I haven't been to the fair. It's quite hot and I'm working on a website. I will keep your comment so I remember to send you more food.
My shared album of washi tape on envelopes.
I have a suggestion on how to open my washi-covered envelopes only profile. Also a link to an album of photos of my envelopes.

Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU for such a wonderful envie full of such joyful items (KSU: Not a swap but a RAK). I love everything, but I am super pumped about that band aid. It's coming to work w/ me for my next ridiculous paper cut. I'm so sorry to read about your wifey!! I hope you are both taking care of yourselves as best you can. I'm here if you ever need to vent your frustrations - it's SO hard right now to get any help, it seems! Sending you hugs and love!
Thank you so much for the Not a Swap RAK! OMG, the die cut memos, the piyoko mame letter, the SG bandage! I could go on and on. This was like the All Star game of kawaii characters. :D Thank you, Pattie!
