My name is Lisa and I’m from Long Island, NY, which is about 20 minutes outside of NYC. Long Island is an interesting mix of city & beach life. I am 44 years old and have a 18 year old daughter named Laella who is the light of my life. Swap-bot was recommended by a penpal, and so I thought I’d give it a try. I’m a definite newbie:) I started creating HappyMail just over two years ago and love seeing all the creativity the community shares. My passions (other than SnailMail) are books, crystals, nature, and animals. My favorite authors are Kurt Vonnegut, Margaret Atwood, Agatha Christie, Amor Towles, and Charles Bukowski. Crystals are something I just sort of stumbled into while trying to find a way to cope with anxiety. I began meditating and crystals followed shortly after. I am not much of a spiritual person, but love the meaning behind each unique crystal. I have always had a great love for all things living and find myself most at ease out in nature or surrounded by animals. The ocean and forests are my happy places. Laella and I have six cats, but one day hope to open an animal sanctuary. It’s a lofty goal, but something to look forward to. As for my mail aesthetic, I adore cottagecore, ethereal, woodland, botanical, kawaii, and boho styles. My own personality is a mix of urban & gypsy. I believe strongly in kindness, but also have a sassy edge. I find joy in everything from a deep, meaningful quote to a silly, witty pun. Mostly I like to consider myself fun, creative, and laidback.
Some things I enjoy receiving are: -Avril yarn -Gorjuss Girls -washi tape -unique feeling papers(I.e. vellum, handmade) -teas (all kinds) -washi stickers -post cards -ephemera -decorative ribbon, lace, or yarn -stamps & stamped images -botanical anything -bee, snail (or any insect really) themed items -doilies -vintage papers (especially in French) -pressed flowers -bookmarks -quotes -zodiac (I’m Pisces) or celestial themes -blank labels (I use them to address mail) -lace -grid papers -aesthetic photos or prints -ATCs
Things I don’t particularly like: -planner items -cartoonish or juvenile items -cutesie or “girly” themes -sequins or glitter -religious or motivational items, sayings, or quotes -pop culture -hunting or meat themes (I’m vegan) -loud patterns -cat or dog themed items -holiday themes
I look forward to exchanging items to make you smile! Until then, happy swapping 🐌❤️✉️
2024: I am aware I have a few 1s and my only explanation is that life became unbearable a few years back and I lost my way. I am sorry for any sadness that my inconsistency may have caused. I have reached out to those that I received ones from in order to try and make good even though it is quite some time later. I know this reflects badly, but hope that people are willing to understand, but sometimes life happens, and we can’t control the world around us. I truly enjoy Swapbot and hope to get back into swaps very soon.

Thank you for returning the Book I am Reading Travelling Postcard to me! (I don't think this was part of a formal swap, right?) I loved The Goldfinch so much. I hope you like it too!
