Please bear with me, I have a hard time writing "about me's" :). I am a mother of two preschoolers, a mother hen to two nieces and a nephew whom I tutor and teach any and all types of arts and interests their whimsy :). Soon I will also have a step-daughter that I am still getting to know, but we have a lot in common and she loves art too! (sorry about this wall of text; I don't know how to make spaces on this). I am also a published author, have a song in Carnegie Hall, and am a belly dancer (my eight-year-old niece takes the class with me! I am hoping to make new friends and learn even more different types of art to teach all the littles. I should add that I am an avid reader and history and psychology buff (I studied them in college. Tudor history is my expertise, and if you send me anything with the six queens I will love you forever :) XD. Also, I was baking bread before Covid made it cool. (I should probably add that I love cooking and baking). I also love studying languages and am focusing on Spanish at the moment. I am also passionate about mental health awareness. Weird side note, I also love all things tarot.
Needlework!!! Hand quilting, embroidery, beaded embroidery, cross-stitch, needlepoint, knitting, crocheting...and the list goes on. I also enjoy 5D beaded painting/crafts. I am not the best artist but am working on improving (watercolor to start). I also do calligraphy and hand lettering. I know it is not a "craft" per se, but I absolutely love having pen pals. I have been keeping pen pals since I was a teenager. A friend of mine introduced me to ATC's, and I am really interested in making them. I am probably forgetting some, but if I remember I will add to this.
My music tastes have always been very eclectic and I love it! Favorites include Enrique Iglesias, Pitbull, Broadway (Too many to list, but recent favorites are Hamilton and Six), Luke Bryan, and many more.
Such a long list here... "Alias Grace," "The Handmaid's Tale," books by Robert Greene (really helpful for a writer), "The Tale of Genji," "The Artist's Way" by Julia Cameron, "The Tao of Pooh" and "The Te of Piglet," "The Way of the Peaceful Warrior," "Innocent Traitor," by Alison Weir, random fact books and daily intellectual/spiritual devotionals, "Six Wives of Henry VIII" by David Starkey, "Memoirs of a Geisha," (I am a huge fan of geisha) "Snow Flower and the Secret Fan," "Falling Leaves" by Adeline Yen Mah, "The Divine Comedy," by Dante Alighieri, "The Three Musketeers" and "The Man in the Iron Mask," "Les Miserables," "Animal Farm," The Harry Potter series, "A Christmas Carol"...and I should probably stop at this point, lol
Dreamcatchers, geisha, language study, Ancient Egypt, Ancient Rome, belly dancers, cats, meditation, yoga, various spiritual wisdom and philosophies, Salem Witch Trials, Tudor and Edwardian England, folktales, learning about other cultures, samurai, Cleopatra, native heritage (especially my Cherokee heritage), Leonardo da Vinci, the Six Wives of Henry VIII, butterflies, learning new things, writing, butterflies memes, quotes, tulips and roses, altruism, and acts of service, and learning about others. I will add to this list as I remember, lol.
Bookmarks, postcards, quilting fabrics, anything that will teach me something new, tarot related things, stories, stationery, organization items (especially pages that help me organize days/weeks/goals/etc.), journals, notions for creating things (for example, buttons for my crocheted teddy bears), inspirational quotes and images, stickers, and if I remember more I will add to this.
I am not a judgmental person and we all have our struggles. I like to give people an ear to vent to because it isn't always safe to vent to those you are around. Although Catholic, I am a spiritual person who respects all non-harmful views because I believe we are all on different paths to the same goal. The only thing I ask is to please not push your faith on me because I would not do that to you. I would very much enjoy learning more about your faith and what it means to you, just please don't try to convert me :). Other than that, I can't wait to get to know you!
