I consider myself to be a very quiet, honest, caring and sincere country girl. I have lived in the country most of my life, and simply can't imagine ever living any place where you can't see the stars at night or listen to the frogs. Granted having allergies isn't always fun in the country, but so long as I stay out of the hay, avoid the pollen and fallen leaves, it is all good! I much prefer the fruity smells over the flowery smells, especially when it comes to perfume. I have also learned that vanilla is a great odor eliminator of pet odors.
I am single, and I have no children, at least no TWO legged children. I love animals and have a very spoiled newfoundland/lab/chow mix. He is a very good boy, but truly sometimes I don't think he realizes that he's a dog. I also have 8 extremely spoiled cats, five princesses, and three princes. I work to pay the bills for them, or so they think! Afterall, dogs have owners and cats have staff as they say. I would love to have a siamese cat again, but found out early in life that my allergies simply can't tolerate that breed of cat. It's okay though, I more than make up for it with all my mixed breeds!
I enjoy the simple things in life. Things like scrapbooking, making cards, spending time with friends and family, taking a walk in the back yard (when it ever dries), cutting grass with my tractor (again, when it is dry). Living in Delaware, the land is very low, and with all the snow and rain we have been blessed with these last several months, well, dry is something we are not right now.
I have been scrapbooking and making cards for about five years now. I truly do enjoy it. It is a great stress releiver. I am a teacher in a reform school for boys, so stress relievers are a good thing. My Aunt turned me on to this sight and I am very excited about it. I can't wait for the first swaps I signed up for to start.
Let's see, what else is asked??
Favorite color ... I have always been partial to bright true blue, or dark blue. Being fair of skin, blonde hair and blue eyes, I am definitely more winter colors than anthing. I also like purple, and green. When I scrapbook, I tend to lean more towards earth tones mainly becuase of the pictures I am scrapping.
Favorite music ... I listen to mostly country, Trace Adkins, Craig Morgan, & Darryl Whorley are some of my favorites. I do like the hair bands from the 80's, Bon Jovi is a favorite and is still rockin' ... I have also been known to enjoy Nickelback and Green Day, when it comes to music, it is all about mood, some days you just have to listen to Barry Manilow, and others Aerosmith.
Favorite collections ... The funny thing about collections is that other people usually give you things and before you know it you are a collector of something. For me it is dalmatian knick knacks and The Wizard of Oz charachters. They both have sentimental value, hence why I continue to collect them.
Favorite book - well, I love paranormal romance books. I love the various series of books by Christine Feehan, Sherrilyn Kenyon, and Jacquelyn Franks. All of these authors I HIGHLY recommend. They are all very well written and have great story lines.
Favorite movies - I like mostly action adventure movies and psychological thrillers. That being said though, one of my all time favorites is Shawshank Redemption.
Favorite TV - When it comes to TV shows, I do not care for any of the reality shows. I do like all the CSI shows, NCIS, Criminal Minds, Ghost Whisperer, and Star Trek, SCI FI things. I know, not your typical girl. Working where I do I think is what has drawn me to them.
Favorite Crafts - I like to scrapbook, make cards, make baby quilts, and do some needle point projects. I really don't consider myself to be overly artistic, but I try, and that is the fun of it.
I think I pretty much covered all the topics. I look forward to swapping projects!
