I'm a 21 year old college student at Arcadia University where I have awesome roommates who show me things like Swap-Bot. I'm an English major, unsure of where I'm going with it or why. I read a lot. Like, too much. I get ridiculously excited over sentence structure, eloquent writing, and commas (they're my favorite punctuation mark!). I work too much, at Wholefoods where I live like a vampire and stock shelves overnight. It's peaceful and relaxing and I generally enjoy nights better than days. I don't sleep much and usually think too much. Sometimes I write things down. I write really really fast, so I have terrible handwriting. I apologize in advance, but I loooove writing stuff down so much more than typing. Ummm...I can't think of anything else because I don't like talking about myself and kinda feel like this sounds like a personal ad...
The many sub genres of metal, techno, and industrial. And reggae. And rock. And Amy Winehouse.
I've found something to love about every book I've ever read, but some of my favorites have been: Bonfire of the Vanities (Wolfe), Wonderland (Oates), Lolita (Nabokov), Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas (Thompson), everything Kurt Vonnegut has ever written, and there's a whole long list of poets/essayists/short story writers that are too many to remember at the moment.
I like writing and collect interesting journals. I love watching pages fill up. And ballpoint pens. I used to do a lot of hemp jewelry/friendship bracelet making and I think I can still do it. I like collages. I can't really draw or anything, but I do like to color. And paint-by-number.
Things I think are super-awesome to get are: -homemade/decorated envelopes -STATIONARY! -any book ever written, because somebody, somewhere thought it was worth writing down -fake flowers -glittery things -"found" things with a story. example...i sent out a ring I had bought at a flea market years ago and recently found...old coins...old jewelry...old anything really. -trail mix/granola/healthy food stuff -interesting candy. (the sugar isn't worth it unless it's super cool) -homemade jewelry -any writing you did that you thought someone else should read -recipes! -stickers! -basically, anything! i'm grateful and happy with anything i receive :)
Since my significant others have a history of not being so great, my dad is who is receiving this swap. He's always there for me and loves getting mail. He's always teasing me about how much mail I get from all over the place. He has received one of these before and loved it so much, I want to try this again. He loves Folger's coffee, chocolate candies, the Philadelphia Eagles, tools and gadgets, history, The History Channel, home improvement, and anything interesting and quirky. Send him something that will make him say, "wow, that's neat-o!"
