I like learning and doing all sorts of crafts. For instance I have done card making, pottery, sewing, cooking, acrylic painting, origami, actually all sorts of paper crafts, wood burning, woodworking. I live alone with a cat. We tolerate each other. She likes being alone and outside while I like dogs better. Not little, yappy ankle biting creatures but dogs such as Kelpie or Labrador. My home is in the northern suburbs of Perth, Western Australia. I have travelled around Australia and overseas but am glad I live where I live. Apart from crafts I have a passion for Genealogy, mainly as Family History delving into the lives and locations of my ancestors and their extended families. I have five children and four grandchildren. I am separated from my husband and have been for nearly as long as we were marred. Have though kept a cordial relationship going. Don't know what else to say about me. I have written more than I would actually say as I am usually a person of few words, brevity is what I think its called. Perhaps in another window or two will put my likes and dislikes. If I remember to save as I didn't before.
I like a range of music from classical to contemporary. I think I am more definite on what I don't like - head banging type music like techno and grunge, some Jazz makes my skin shiver which irritates me. I am not keen on rap although I have been known to like an Eminem number. Opera can get a bit much when you don't understand what's going on with the words.
My all time favourite would be the late Sir Terry Pratchett and his Discworld books. Following that would be Tolkien's "Hobbit" and "Lord of the Rings Trilogy". George R.R. Martin's 'Game of Thrones" were great until the TV series took the magic away. I also like Historical fiction, true stories, some biographies. Once I used to read everything including dictionaries and telephone books, now a days I am lucky to read at all. Perhaps when have found the ideal story line.
Don't watch many movies can not sit down long enough, get bored. First movie I remember watching was at the drive-in and it was "Hatari", now that is showing my age bracket. I grew up with "Sound of Music", "Mary Poppins", "Chitty Chitty Bang Bang" and "Fiddler on the Roof". Sometimes I will get comfy on the couch and watch a movie, especially if its cold outside and inside. Snuggle under an electric throw over and I'll stay there all day, binge watching. I do not like the cold, today its 40 dec C which is getting a bit on the warm side. At least I can sit at computer typing all this.
Wat ever I think is good I watch, actually record and then watch at my leisure. Just finished watching mini series "The Third Day" wasn't too bad with Jude Law in it. I watch the Australian ABC News, documentaries, sometimes those ones about axe murderers and the neighbours you would not want to live next to, although I do have my own personal story of knowing a couple who were convicted of murders. The way you need to investigate forensically your ancestors lives for Family History can be like police investigating cold cases. I do not like these reality shows like Big Brother, Housewives of (insert place name here) and all those shows where celebrities do all sorts of things from acting badly when trying to survive or doing stupid things to illicit a laugh. Until recently I loved Dr Who but the last two were not to my liking though any Doctor is better than none.
Paper crafts which would include origami, card and tag making, paper dolls, models like houses and at present Junk Journals. Although I do not actually do journaling. Pottery/Ceramics hand built items, not very good but hey its fun playing with mud. Acrylic painting I just splash paint on and something happens, I have no technique but I do enjoy the process especially using my hands instead of a brush. When I was in high school got kicked out of the dressmaking classes so am now self taught, do things my way and it all works out for the best. Have made children's clothes, toys and other interesting things like costumes. I had the same effect on the Cooking teacher, although she did compliment me saying I may not do things the correct way but my white sauce was the only one that actually looked and tasted as it should. Didn't last long in that case either. I taught myself to make many things, all you need to know is the basic method for making certain categories then do it your own way. Two crafts I have tried , tried and tried again and am all thumbs and awkwardness is knitting and crocheting. Just can not get the hang of it, definitely not a relaxing craft for me. I admire those who can whittle away the hours watching TV constructing an item.
Favourite colours are those that represent the earth, sky and sea which probably takes in all of them. Blues and browns probably would be my most used where pink and purples I like occasionally. I'll try to list themes that I like:- Australiana, Indigenous, Japanese, Asian, Steampunk, Animals, Lizards, Bugs and Butterflies, Birds, Wildflowers, Roses, Violets and Pansies, Gothic, Dragons, Gnomes, a few fairies are OK, Humour (but not crude or smutty), Dr Who, Fantasy, Mythical creatures but Angels and Cherubs I can do without, also not too keen on Devils and goat like creatures.
I do not drink tea nor coffee. Please email me if you have a problem wit my send.
As I am in Western Australia posting internationally can be a bit slow especially to certain Covid countries. Actually postal Services have deteriorated here lately also. Parcels are quicker than letters.

Hi, you're late in sending my swap. Please send ASAP! Thanks!
High five! Sometimes I think I swap not to receive but just because I like sending, trying to put a smile on someone's face. Still, receiving is a great delight with swaps like yours!!!
... and the Cricut made stickers turned out beautifully in a theme I love! thank you.!!!
Thank you for the TWO swap envelopes for the junk journal swap. The doilies are beautiful and I appreciate all the writing explaining the photos you chose. I adore the photo of you as a baby. It was a very special package!!!
Profile Hello 2021,
I'm sending a big Howdy from a very cold and frozen Texas tonight. I hope this finds you doing well. Hatari has always been one of my most favorite John Wayne movies! Of course I love most all of his movies. We have probably seen Fiddler on the Roof at least 20 times or more. Have a wonderful day!
Hugs, Diane
2021 Profile Hello
Just dropping by to say Hello!
I've tried several crafts like you but I enjoy making paper crafts the most. I make handmade cards and ATC's.
I prefer dogs over cats too but my son has a cat and I absolutely adore her so if all of them could be as sweet and cute as her, maybe I would get a cat.
I've never been outside the USA so I can't imagine living somewhere like Australia!
My cousin did a genealogy on my family (my mother's side) and I found out I'm a distant relative of Jesse James (not a proud moment of knowing I am somehow related to him but it was interesting to find out).
I have 4 children and 3 grandchildren. I'm married and it will be 26 years in June. I will admit, it has been rocky at times. I was previously married for 17 years and lost my husband, he was 42 when he passed away. We had 4 children together. My current husband and I do not have any children together and he doesn't have any biological children.
I enjoyed reading your profile and your favorites for swapping. I don't swap outside the USA anymore because of postage but would love to have you as a swap partner if I did or ever do again.
Enjoy your day and please rate me!
Hugs, Pam
