UPDATE FEB 18 2020- Apologies to several swappers about my lateness- I am working about 80hrs/week now due to a coworker quitting without notice. I am behind on sending out 2 swaps, and some received swaps/ratings. I appreciate your patience; I have notified swap partners & coordinators, and will be getting out stuff ASAP.
Love, love, love mail. Surprises in the mailbox are a true highlight of the day. I have been on sendsomething.net (#9) for over a decade, and thought I would branch out.
Send me anything you are passionate about, anything you like to make by hand, anything you would like to share about your world; I am sure I will like it :)
Papercrafts- origami, collage work, etc. Love ephemera.
Books: a lot of autobiographies, horror, Malcom Gladwell & Freakonomics type books, true crime (mostly white collar), psychology.
Audio: human interest podcasts, NPR- This American Life, Snap Judgment, etc.
TV: Mostly documentaries, a lot of Smithsonian Channel, History Channel, Sundance. I do like some "reality" shows, those that are informative or keep the drama to a minimum (The Great British Bake Off & such). Some of my favorite tv shows ever were the historical reality tv series that came out in the late 1990s/early 2000s.- Frontier House, Colonial House, The Edwardian Country House. We always forget how much harder life was in previous generations!
I truly feel shows like The Housewives of Wherever, the Kardashians, and the majority of "reality" shows are the biggest evil on tv. They glorify the worst behavior, teach nothing but materialism & acting like a spoiled 12 year-old drama queen, and have enabled ungodly wealth as a reward for incredibly narcissistic behavior.
In my daily life, trying to remember to be empathetic before being critical.
So, if you are here to figure out what to send me, here is the list:
But most of all - Include a sentence or two (or more!) about how you found what you are sending and why you love it.
