Update- gave birth to a beautiful little boy on 30th June! Will upload a pics once I've figured out how :)
Hey everyone - I'm very pregnant at the moment and expecting my first little boy, due on 28th June. I've had to stop working finally, and am very much looking forward to having a bit of time for hobbies and art :)
I live with my husband and daughters and one extremely large cat in a chaotic household with lots of books and art materials and a massive amount of yarn! I'm trying to focus on working my way through the yarn but really struggle with the whole not buying any more thing.
I'm a full time felt maker and textile artist, living in the west of England. I have no garden and mid it quite a lot but often compensate by using plant and floral motifs in my work.
I don't really do much else but work with wool, but I'm hoping swap bot will introduce me to new creative outlets and techniques that aren't work based!
Although I like bands like Elbow, Incubus, Soundgarden etc, at the moment I much prefer a bit of peace and quiet. My children have discovered spotify and play the same playlists over and over and over again, so I'm really enjoying the rare moments of silence that come my way.
I love bleak sci-fi and fantasy, although I'm a depressive so I should probably try to read something a bit more positive occasionally. I'm not sure though, maybe it's cathartic?
I don't have the attention span for anything too cerebral, so fast paced stuff only. not movie related but I do love a good documentary so please feel free to recommend any you think I may enjoy. I prefer science and tech to animal and wildlife related stuff.
Love felting, there are no end to the techniques and textures you can try. It's massively versatile stuff. I ought to get out more.
I knit and crochet and essentially do all the crafts. I'm trying out mosaics at the moment but I'm not sure whether it's going to be something I continue with.
Yarn! any amount, I can always use it for granny squares :)
Pretty writing paper - I'd like to start writing penpal letters and this would be useful!
Recipes -especially vegetarian and baked goods
Nice pens and soft drawing pencils
Flavoured coffees and interesting teas - spice rather than fruit when it comes to tea though.
Baby items :)
Die cut shapes
Ribbons and trims
Miniature items
snacks native to your country - especially things that aren't common in mine. No peanuts though please due to allergies.
I also love love love original art work, regardless of how accomplished the maker is.
Glitter and sequins
Peanuts! We have allergies in our house.
