After a several month hiatus from swap-bot I am back. We had some family and military issues to deal with--Thank goodness it is all finally over.
I am a mom and wife to a family of 3. We have a toddler-age daughter and my husband is away on deployment # 3 with the army.
I am currently attending college with an art major and hope to finish with a degree in design (interior or fabric).
I’m a list maker, ! write at least 1 a day; most don’t make sense to anyone but me. I like seeing tangible results when I get to cross of an item, its motivating.
I am an enthusiast of useless knowledge. I devour nonfiction and spend too much time researching things that make no sense to most people.
I love thrift stores, flea markets, yard sales and resale shops. I love the feeling when you find the “perfect†item. Perfect for what isn’t always apparent at first but I usually figure it out.
I love writing (and collecting journals). I don’t really use journals but I love the look of them, the feel and the smell (weird I know). I tend to do my writing on scraps and unusual items. I keep my writing organized in labeled boxes marked with the month/year they happened. It’s disorganized within the box but everything is dated (some even have times) some boxes are just a single subject, like crafting ideas or household stuff. I guess writing isn’t as daunting when you don’t have a blank book staring at you.
I love writing and sending snail mail!
Sewing and Papercrafts are the top 2.
I love to sew and most of my wardrobe has been repurposed at least once. I made most of the accessories for my home and love upholstery. I l love fabrics of any kind and have a nice stash of vintage and new, scraps and yardage of lots of fabric types.
I collect interesting papers and have a collection that is beginning to outgrow my very organized space. I love repurposing papers and giving them a 2nd life. I love stationary, making it, using, collecting it. Love Postcards of any kind. I have a nice stash of vintage photos from flea markets and the like. Recently started making ATCs.
I tend to collect bits and baubles that eventually make their way into collages, journals, sewing projects, jewelry and just about anything else you can imagine. I have game pieces, rocks, charms, beads, wire, embroidery floss, buttons, clips, yarns, ribbons, stickers, stamps, chains,
I have a huge collection of nonfiction on mostly crafty topics but enjoy most topics I can find.
I love most genres of books. My absolute favorite book is Tuesdays with Morrie by Mitch Albom. I love all of his books.
Recent good reads include, How Starbucks Saved My Life, Full Circle, Three Wishes, Ghosts of Tsavo, The Decorated Page, Not So Big House set, Running With Scissors, Visual Chronicles, Journal Revolution, Craft Inc,Dogs of Babel(Lorelei's Secret) I'll stop there....
I like most music--not a fan of hip-hop. Every person who is close to me has different tastes in music so I have a large variety in my collection.
My favorites include Black Lab, VnV Nation, David Gahan, Brad Paisley, Gary Allen, Scooter, Big Star, The Cure, My Chemical Romance, Tom Petty, Jimi Hendrix, Brad Paisley, Gary Allen, Muse, Paramore, Iron and Wine, Perry Farrell, Blue Foundation, MuteMath, Rob Pattison, Bon Jovi, The Killers, Death Cab for Cutie, Snow Patrol, ColdPlay, Blue October, Tori Amos, Dishwalla, David Bowie, The Velvet Underground, The New York Dolls, Lou Reed, Crowded House, Outfield, The Replacements,
