I have been off swap bot for awhile now, life and a new job interfered with my crafti1ng, but I am back to the world of swapbot and am loving it!!! I loooove getting mail and always look for an excuse to make or try out new crafts and techniques, and this seems like the perfect excuse to try things out.
I am not overly religious, I would say that my thoughts and inclinations would lean most closely to wicca and buddhism because of the respect for nature and all living things, but I am admittedly not devoted to any religious observance. I think tolerance and understanding are extremely important traits for people to have, and quite often these traits get lost in the exteme sides of religions.
I am married and have several pets (currently 1 dog and three snakes). I absolutely believe in soul mates and True Love. I actually work with my husband in the same office (we are insurance adjusters) and have worked together for several years now and love having the chance to see each other throughout the day.
I am a Canadian Girl at Heart: I love going camping, hiking, taking walks and being outside in general. I do enjoy staying in for a movie or a good book though, or doing fun spontaneous things like having a night on the town with my honey or going on a last minute road trips
I am a constant writer. I have written everything from poems to short stories and have started (but yet to finish) many novels in a bunch of different genres. I love notebooks and pens. they just inspire me; something like a blank canvas for painters.
I have a background of Lebanese, italian and german, (and a wee bit of scottish and irish) and I love the idea of getting anything from or about those countries.
I enjoy science fiction and fantasy novels, and have a few favorite authors: Diana Gabaldon, David and Leigh Eddings, and Peter David to name a few.
I also love books of quotations, books about egypt and europe (historical and current) and all books about words or writing (I Own 4 dictionaries, 2 encyclopedias, and 5 thesauri if you can believe it, and I am always looking for more)
I have tried lots of different crafts out, but I have not quite settled on one. I have worked with:
Honestly I am interested in everything and do like pretty much everything as well, though some things peak my interest more than others.
I love colour! (one of the bedrooms in my house is painted bright green!). I love treasure hunts which is why my hubby and I have gotten into geocaching lately (it's pretty much a giant treasure hunt all over the world based on GPS coordinates)
I worked in a high end bakery for several years and (if the job had had any financial future) would have made it a career, so I am a big fan of all things related to baking, cooking and the kitchen-I love everything cupcake (and have an amazing recipe for chocolate ones with strawberry meringue buttercream if anyone is interested), desserts and everything to do with my bright red Kitchen Aid Mixer!!!
I am getting really into steampunk, so anything gears, clocks, victorian, classic steampunk or vintage would be lovely
-I enjoy cutsey things (if it is furry, has big eyes or looks like it is in dire need of a hug, I am taken! :)
I think everything shiny and glittery is worth my time and attention. I am forever driving my husband crazy with the glitter that gets everywhere!!!!
-notebooks (any and all sizes, I looove them!)
-my favorite colours are deep blues, purples, pinks, and greens
-I prefer silver over gold, but i do enjoy copper as well
-paper of any kind
-pens, markers or pretty much any writing utensil
-my husband has a 1973 mustang that he is restoring, so mustang anything are always appreciated
-stickers of any 3 dimensional, popping variety are my favorite, flowers and buttons are also well loved.
I love, love love, any and all forms of dark chocolate
I love Clocks! I am not sure why, but I do. anything clocks or clock parts (gears and what not) would be lovely
-my favorite tea is peppermint, or fruity teas, please no caffeinated teas. I am also desperately trying to find 'Blueberry bliss' tea from london herb and tea company. if you have access to a box I would love to do a swap for it.
-all things fruity:strawberry, citrus smells (grapefruit, orange, lemon) mango, kiwi, that kind of thing
-rubber stamps (especially ones that can be used for backgrounds, like script, words/numbers and swirly patterns) or any crafty supplies as I am trying to develop and improve my craft/scrapbooking supplies
I am making a scrapbook for my husband using all music themed stuff so please, please, please, anything music themed would be sooo lovely (musical notes, microphones, sheet music, etc)
-I love using old and found items for backgrounds and unexpected additions to my scrapbookings cards and ATC's, so any tokens, tickets, coins or newspaper clippings (especially from other countries) are welcome
I have a cricut with the following cartridges: French Manour, Forever Young, Wild Card, Cuttin' Up, Ornamental Iron, Ornamental Iron 2, From my Kitchen, Pagoda, Jubilee, My world, Beyond birthdays, Birthday Cakes, Quarter Note and Flower Shoppe. Anything from other cartriges would be lovely and I would be happy to do a swap if someone wants to have images from any of my cartidges!
Misc Loves: Steampunk, ninja's, superhero stuff, corsets, bondage, anything tim holtz, mythology, betty boop, fairies, butterflies
I would have to say I least like things that are everyday (common) and plain, I am also not a huge fan of the brown palette (Except chocolate brown- I love that deep yummy shade), light pastel kind of colours or floral prints (although there is always the occasional beatiful print in that grouping that catches my eye- I know! I am so difficult!)
I do not like orange or yellow very much, unless included in a pattern with other colours
I don't like floral scents
I am trying not to have caffeine or aspartame, so nothing with either of those please
no candies or sugary treats (unless they are no sugar added or sugar free- those are lovely), I am also not a fan of peanuts
I love Food Shows: Nigella, Giada, Bitchin Kitchen and the food network challenges are great!
I am a big fan of british comedies, everything Joss Whedon, science fantasy and all things discovery channel (I adore history and documentaries)
I adore Game of Thrones, The Big Bang Theory, Bones (the reruns, not so much a fan of the latest season), Fringe, Vampire Diaries, Storage Wars, The Glades, Castle, Whitney, 2 Broke Girls and How I Met Your Mother.
I also enjoy the occassional animated series: Avatar the Last Airbender, and Samurai Jack to name a few. I completely appreciate the clever and quick witty comments that are always put into these types of shows
My husband has always been the biggest fan of Law and Order and though I tease him about it constantly and I have started to enjoy Law and Order SVU and even the original episodes...(Shhhh... dont tell him)
I love giving things to my honey, he is wonderful, sweet and supportive (especially with my crafting addictions), and I think he deserves a swap item or two. If you have anything you think he might like and want to do a private swap or are popping in something extra in an envelope I would love if it was for him.
•anything computer related (he is a crazy I.T computer building genius) (pretty much anything from thinkgeek.com if you want an idea)
