My name is Katie. I'm (still) finishing high school in rural NH. I spend most of my free time in various crafting pursuits- from knitting to photography, sewing and beyond! I'm a big political activist, and am super active in my community.
More about me: I'm vaguely whimsical, day dream perpetually and am often found reading or journaling. I'm a bit of a feminist (Riot Grrl in training, thank you very much!), but I'm more interested in the GLBT movement. I love grass roots activism.
And onward... I love fairies and gnomes and Amelie, the movie. I love things to write in and craft with. On that note, I'd love a swap journal! I love tote bags (really, really love them!)as well as wallets (still looking for the perfect one, for both travel and everyday use) and sublime stitching embroidery. I love pincushions, felt cakes, journals, shrugs, pouches, little cases and pouches (I'd love a sleeping bag for my iPod nano so she doesn't get scratched up in my bag).
I speak French almost fluently. I love mittens and envelopes, traveling, tea (Earl Grey is my favorite), paper piecing little teeny bits and felt food.
For more about my likes, feel free to check out my wists- http://www.wists.com/bridgetbegins.
Indie... lots of singer songwriters. Classical, musicals, classic rock. I've hopped aboard the iPod train, and have been dredging up the boy bands of my youth, though, lately. Huh.
Favorite artists: Belle and Sebastian, The Dresden Dolls, Chris Smither, James Hunter
Boys Don't Cry is my favorite of the moment. I also enjoy foreign films (if in French, without subtitles), especially Les Choristles and Amelie. I love GATTACCA
House. And MythBusters. Sometimes Gray's Anatomy. Occasionally The Office.
Knitting, sewing, scrap-booking, general crafting mayhem and... more.
NOTE: I make baby items (i.e., sweaters, booties, little bags, hats etc.) for local NICU's/Hospitals/Shelters. So, if you have baby or kid friendly fabric scraps or leftover balls of yarns that you no longer have need for and can send along with the swap parcel, I'd really appreciate them. Just little amounts of yarn and other supplies can truly make a difference in a little persons life! Thanks!
