Sept 1, 2013. School has started, so I probably won't join many swaps till break I'm a mom of 3, trying to get more drawing/rendering, crafts (mostly papercrafts), and general art practice after a very, very long hiatus. I've gone ATC live trade but I'm pursuing a BA in Interior Design that consumes a lot of my time from Sept to mid-May. I'll probably do the bulk of my trading during winter & summer breaks. I only participate in ATC trades, at this time
I read escapism type or reference books about 99% of the time. To be more specific, subjects like paranormal, romance, paranormal romance (Sherrilyn Kenyon, Charlaine Harris, Patricia Briggs, Kelley Armstong), some sci-fi/fantasy, biographies, short stories (HG Wells, Edgar Allen Poe, Philip K Dick), graphic novels/comics, some manga (thanks to my son). I try to avoid anything really depressing because there's enough sadness in the news.
I'm a big movie fan, although I don't get to watch them as much as I used to. I like the classics to modern: Battleship Potemkin, Citizen Kane, Cabinet of Dr Caligari, Spiderman, Evil Dead (I'm a big Sam Raimi fan), Iron Man, Let the Right One In, most Clint Eastwood movies, Scott Pilgrim, Shaun of the Dead, Godzilla, and on and on. Nothing too gory. Those are just the ones that come to mind right now.
TV is all about guilty pleasure for me - True Blood, Game of Thrones, Boardwalk Empire, Vampire Diaries, Supernatural, Drop Dead Diva, Being Human (BBC & Sci-Fi), Twillight Zone, some anime (like Darker than Black, thanks again to my son - I've even gone to anime cons with him), HGTV, docs on the History Channel, & an embarrassing amount of reality tv.
Interior Design-For me, it's a great combo of creative and technical.
Paper crafts: pop-up/interactive cards, quilling, paper cutting. I LOVE Lotte Reiniger's silhouette animation films.

World Religions including angels, religious symbols and icons.I find the differences and similarities between mono and poly theism and eastern and western religions interesting.
Philosophy
Symbolism including dream interpretation and mise en scene.
Unique, funny, quicky, &/or kitschy things
Gothic (I'd say I lean more toward a whimsical, romantic, yet still a bit odd, goth style than total despair and depression)
Steampunk
Pop culture
Pin-ups, Pin-up style clothes
Manga and graphic novels
Anime
Happy things
Kawaii
Filigree
Faberge and Pysanka eggs
I'm doodling impaired (I only doodled cubes and 3D shapes when I was younger) and collage confuses me so I love to see how other people are able to incorporate these into their art.
Folk Art/Cultural Art & Designs in general: Scherenschnitte, wycinanki, henna, Retablos, Dia de Muertos, etc, etc - anything is fine, especially if someone makes something special that's a part of their heritage/culture.
I especially like learning about other people through art or stories.
ZOMBIES- I can handle watching Shaun of the Dead and The Evil Dead with the lights on and other people watching it with me but NOT Night/Day of the Living Dead, The Walking Dead, or anything seriously scary or realistically gory. Resident Evil is ok for some reason maybe because they don't show the zombies as much. Kawaii zombies are ok. Zombie survival stuff is ok - I just don't want to see any ugly zombie faces.
