I grew up in Alaska with my outdoorsy family, and now I live in Maine. I discovered exercise and healthy eating. I love lots of colors but these days I think purple and a palette of rich earthy colors is dreamy. I'm also into steely grays and masculine colors right now. I like to ride my 'cross town' bike complete with a front black wire 'carry everything' basket including my old man lunch box. I'm into sewing and knitting, creative journaling, felting (of all kinds) and cooking. I live with my wonderful man, a rambunctious 10 yr old, and the dog, Buttercup, and the beautiful Juneau cat and Oliver kitty.
Wizard of Oz, I also loved the mini series on the SciFi channel called Tin Man.
Bourne(s), Harry Potters(s), Ocean 11,12, & 13, plus the original…I love old b&w flicks. You’ve Got Mail, Shop Around the Corner…I love originals and remakes. I have a life size Humphrey Bogart in my apt.
Ghost Whisperer, L-Word, Monk I’m not big into reality tv, but have been know to get the deer in the headlight look on a few…but then I shake myself and ask “are you really going to remember this in the morning?â€
I’ve recently taken up Letterboxing. Follow the clues to a spot that you pass by every day but never noticed, or go off on mini adventure (or even further) to a spot that you may have never found the time to visit otherwise, and come back with a stamp in your ‘passport.’ Check it out at www.letterboxing.org, or www.atlasquest.com. So I've carved a few stamps and would like to do more.
I love anything polka dots, oddly shaped circles whatever. The circle continuously appears in most of my projects. I like anything Halloween, Valentine, beads, vintage board games pieces, buttons etc. Maps, deco tape makers, I love metal doo-dads. I want to start soldering. I like costume jewelry, but not plastic kids’ stuff. I collect stamps, and always on the hunt for blank postcards (they are used in my other habit (I mean hobby) www.postcrossing.com. I do not need to have visited the place in order to appreciate the postcard. Mail-art! I was a women’s studies major so anything about women’s history, struggles, triumphs…amazing! Nancy Drew, Susan B. Anthony, Edith Wharton, Joan Jett, are some of my favorite ladies.
I like graphic art and fonts and lettering of all kinds. Fabrics or paper (even newspaper, magazines) with other language lettering on it would be awesome.
I collect art supplies, who doesn't right?. I was an art major as well, and I worked for years at an art supply store so it was like the stuff just followed me home. I like modern, edgy, even graffiti, but I also like cute, pink.
There is one sturdy fabric store in my town (Joanns), but I’m so bored with the selections, everything looks too much like old granny squares (not that there’s anything wrong with that)…but I would love some unique fabrics from anywhere but here! I love browns and purples, not crazy about batiks. I like modern, contemporary, edgy patterns designs. I like vintage & retro. I love all the Somerset magazines..Sew Somerset, Somerset Studio, Somerset Gallery awesome, inspiring, totally! Also the sisters Cloth, Paper Scissors and Quilting Arts!
I'm always on the lookout for healthy and easy recipes...snack, dinner, dessert, anything. I'm a coffee junkie. I love containers, vintage, cigar boxes, match boxes, bottles, jars, bags....I enjoy baking.
For about a year I've been washing up 2nd hand sweaters in hot water (felting) and cutting them up to make bags, coasters, bulletin board, pot holders, clock, whatever I can come up with. If magic struck my mailbox and a clean outgrown or goodwill wool sweater (any size, shape, color or pattern) appeared, I would be delighted. I've also taken up needle felting.
scented foo fooey stuff, candles, lotions etc
game boards, game pieces, 'vintage' greeting cards, post cards, letters, glass or beaded ornaments, costume jewelry (I dig bling), wool, ribbon for sewing, ANY CONTAINERS (little or anything...cigar boxes, cigarette tins, change purse, pencil box, jars)...really anything...except maybe new character type stuff like disney.

We have so much in common, from having lived in Alaska, our love of life and animals, to an addiction for art supplies, Matt Damon movies, containers, healthy recipes, tired of Joann's fabric, letterboxing-so fun...like a little treasure hunt, and felting, and wish list items.....looking forward to seeing some of your doll creations.
Hope you had a wonderful Birthday! Juju
