I made a swap! Short story e-swap! Come join! [It will cost you no postage at all, promise.] (http://www.swap-bot.com/swap/show/92927)
So I finally figured out my mail! YAY. I look forward to swapping with all of you again. :)
Hi! I'm new here. Feel free to message and/or friend me. :D
I doodle obsessively. (In fact, I hope to be able to make a living off of it.) I do a lot of vector illustration and pen illustration. Mostly vectors though.
I play with words. I write the most awful poetry and short stories with no story arcs but with awesome descriptions. I guess that makes them more like scenes.
I love languages. I'm very slowly teaching myself Cantonese. Slowly. As of now I know 3.5 languages, and I hope to speak at least 5 fluently before I die. AT LEAST.
I have an affinity for science-fiction. It started with the Terminator. T2 has and always will be one of my favorite films. Also, I wear Doc Martens. I've worn boots since I was eight-years-old.
I'm an independent/amateur filmmaker, so I guess that means I like... tape?
Oh, and I'm a queer anarchist feminist, anti-binary, cut-and-pasting DIYer. I like to alphabetize lists.
Here are some self-portraits:
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
I like making paper crafts, crocheting, digital art, music playlists, scarves, bizarre jewelry, postcards, and zines.
I love handmade things, upcycled things, things that are different, strange, and utilitarian.
I'm an atheist, but being a Mexican in Los Angeles, I have amazing access to Roman Catholic charms, icons, and related objects. If you'd like to private swap for some, let me know. ^_^
.
or anything else amazing you can think of. (Also check the book wish list.)
If you're interested in a private swap, let me know!

MAGAZINES
Graphic Design magazines, art magazines, geek magazines, illustration magazines
I'm too poor for magazine subscriptions, so if you have any old ones of these, I'd be happy to get them off your hands. :)

AUTHORS
Magical realism, violence, existentialism, and the romantic.
The Wind Up Bird Chronicle by Haruki Murakami
any design books on color theory or combinations
.
Amanda Palmer, Bikini Kill, Die Antwoord, The Distillers, Fiona Apple, Jason Webley, Massive Attack, M.I.A., MSI, Nina Simone, Peaches, Snake River Conspiracy, Trent Reznor
Accordions, female rappers, queer musicians, industrial, poets, the musically instrumental/experimental, and oh yeah, punk.
I am NOT into: Country, smooth listening, freeform jazz, "adult alternative" (whatever that means), or songs that make people sleepy (you know what I'm talking about).
.
Um, right off the top of my head, A LOT.
Action, animation, existential arty crap, foreign, sci-fi, porn, ridiculous satire.
Pretty much any B-side movies (Demolition Man, Escape from New York) or Hong Kong kung-fu (Chow-Yun Fat, Jackie Chan or Stephen Chow).
Actually, pretty much every genre. I'm really picky. I hate everything and love a lot. Maybe I should stop writing now.
.
Also, I'm a vegetarian. As far as crafting is concerned, pretty much vegan. No feathers, beeswax, bones, or bits of leather.
What I mean to say is, I would be considered a vegan if I could just stop eating cheese.
