I'm a fine art and illustration graduate living in Bedfordshire, UK. I have been drawing since birth pretty much and love it! My favourite materials to use are pen, pencil, gouache and watercolour, as well as using my mac to do digital work. I also crochet and embroider as it is amazing for de-stressing (and making lovely textiles and creatures too!) I use a lot of paper cutting techniques in my fine art work, which tests my patience but looks amazing once finished. I'm currently training to become an art teacher and producing work in my spare time. If you get a chance have a look at my Etsy shop and my blog :) I'm very easy going so please don't worry about what to send me, I'm sure I'll love it!
Where I live, its out in the English countryside so lots of wildlife, greenery (which incidentally is my favourite colour!) and scenery. I absolutely adore animals from bats to badgers, ducks to dogs, you name it I love them! Well, everything apart from fish and sea creatures which scare me, and bugs, but everything else! I love really old trinkets and objects, particularly jewelery. My most prized possession is my great-great-grandmothers engagement ring which is absolutely priceless to me and absolutely stunning. I'm very nostalgic (sometimes too nostalgic!) and this influences a lot of my work. I'm very lucky to have had a lovely upbringing and like to think I have no regrets. Old TV programs and films that I watched repeatedly growing up I still have in my collection, and I'm trying to do the same with games and toys a lot of the time! One of the best presents I ever got was a plain white 'My Little Pony' that I could paint myself! I love traveling and have always got my sketchbook on me ready to draw!
Dexter, Flight of the Conchords, Mad Men, The Apprentice, Project Runway/Catwalk, Ace of Cakes, Choccywoccydoodah.
Little Miss Sunshine, Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory (the original with Gene Wilder!), La Vie En Rose, Diving Bell and the Butterfly, Airplane!, West Side Story, Wall-E, Classic Disney, Persepolis, The Breakfast Club, Chicago, Hot Rod, Back to the Future, Saturday Night Fever, this list could go on for a while, and yes my taste is VERY varied! I love musicals both on film and stage and am nuts about animation, particularly Pixar!
'Kafka on the Shore' by Haruki Murakami, my favourite ever book. Am reading his book 'Norwegian Wood' at the moment. 'Rebecca' by Daphne Du Maurier is a very close second (and the film directed by Hitchcock is good too!) Jim Thompson's 'The Killer Inside Me' is fantastic but not for the faint hearted. I also love Mark Haddon's work, in particularly 'A Spot of Bother'. Again, like my film taste, very varied... variety is the spice of life after all!
Toulouse Lautrec, Saul Bass, Iv Orlov, Sara Fanelli, Rob Ryan, Beatrice Coron, Hans Christian Andersen (did some amazing papercutting work, look it up!) Tord Boontje, Wassily Kandinsky, Gustav Kilmt, Max Brodel, DaVinci... to name just a few! I admire all sorts of work from anatomical drawings to intricate papercuttings, so the people I take influence from are from all sorts of subject areas!
David Bowie, Hot Chip, Fleet Foxes, Mumford & Sons, The Beatles, Duran Duran, Fleetwood Mac, Johnny Cash, Gaga, Blondie, Flight of the Conchords, Miike Snow, Rolling Stones, Prodigy, Royksopp... lots!

I was reading your profile. I love Toulouse Lautrec, and also Dali. Our musical tastes are very similar. Come to the USA in September and see Fleet Foxes and the Walkmen play in brooklyn! :)
