My soul is southern, but my feet are planted here in New York City.
Swannanoa NC (just east of Asheville in the Blue Ridge Mountains)
Brooklyn NY (just outside of the city)
I don’t microwave popcorn because it’s easier (and tastier) to make it on the stovetop. I like listening to stories told out loud. I make a killer peach pie. You can frequently find me swing dancing in the big city, and in between working and dancing, I’m usually cooking, writing, reading, spending time with good friends, or enjoying a drink. I’m probably looking for another good book to read or band to listen to. When the weather is warm I’m a happy hash runner.
Fiction, non fiction, and the beautiful things in between. I’m currently obsessed with the RadioLab podcast and the works of Jeff Vandermeer (a fun combo of science fiction, fantasy, and detective noir). I listen to bluegrass and drink whisky.
Here's a quick hit list of favorite paper things:
Maps -- all kinds all places. Paper ephemera -- again everything from early 1900's to 1970. Coloring books -- I never grew out of them, Indie comic book illustrators -- to name a few off the top of my head: James Jean, Tony Millionaire, and Matt Kindt.
I work as an assistant for Potter Style, an imprint of Random House.
Brunch, baked goods, beer, and bread. The Appalachian Mountains. Good stories and cheesy movies. Running. Dancing. Potluck parties.
I stopped playing the violin in high school. It took me too long to fall in love.
Hulu, Netflix, and the Brooklyn Public Library.

"My soul is southern, but my feet are planted here in New York City." -- I like this. We're exact opposites. I'm a northern soul (who loves NYC) stuck in the south.
Hello!! I sent off your postcard for the Quotecard Postcard #34 on Tuesday night, but being the silly that I am, I forgot to put the swap name or my username on it... So, without wanting to give away too much information on it, it's the Irish themed postcard with stars drawn on. Sorry for the bother, hope that's OK! Fiona (:
