About Me

Message from 5th Feb 2011: If you happen to stumble across my profile in the next month or so I will be on swap-bot very minimally so please bear with me if i don't respond to messages straight away. Also if i do join a swap I will do so ONLY if i can send before the correct date so rest assured :)

PLEASE, IF SENDING TO ME, AND NOT FROM AUSTRALIA..... DO NOT INCLUDE ANIMAL OR FRUIT MATERIAL OR SEEDS. Quarantine may be no fun but it is necessary. (haha yes lisa i copy and pasted that directly from your profile)

Now to talk solely about me for a bit. Pen Names: Effi-G, Eff, Shogut

Real Name: Shonae

Preferred Name: Eff

Family: Mother, Father and 2 Brothers

Qualifications: Bachelor of Occupational Therapy

My name is Shonae but I am happy to be referred to as either that or Eff or whatever you feel the need to call me. I live and have always lived in Far North Queensland in Australia. The town I originate from is known as the wettest place in Aus, and I love love love the rain (which is convenient, otherwise I may have had a miserable upbringing). Currently I reside in a not so wet area but only a short 2.5 hour drive from home. I have recently completed a degree in Occupational Therapy and am working in schools with children who have special needs. I love my job mostly because it allows me to be creative with a lot of my treatment and have completed many craft like projects for my clients.

My creative juices are funnelled mostly into creating plushies, playing bass guitar and drawing. Obviously playing bass won't get me far when it comes to swapping but the other two I am keen to improve and see swap-bot as an amazing opportunity to do this. I have sewn monsters, aliens, elephants, cats, bunnies, and owls to name a few. I am also in the process of making a Vaporeon plushie for a birthday present. I intend to make a Flickr account to show all my creations so watch this space.

I was introduced to swap-bot by a friend who is amazingly talented and raves about the fun she is having here. I am excited to experience it for myself and hope that I will enjoy it as much as she does. As far as fulfilling my obligations, I am a committed person and can't sleep if I break a promise. As such I endeavour to fulfil the requirements and obligations to the fullest extent. Please feel free to contact me if you have a concern or if you would like to share some helpful advice.

Crafty & Creativeness

Most of my life I have been drawn to antyhing crafty or artistic. Because of this I like to dabble in many different art forms, a jack of all trades, yet not amazing at any one of them. I love to draw (cartoons, comics, patterns and attempt a bit of manga here and there), paint, create music and sew (plushies and other small items).

In my line of work I have created a great deal of interesting things for the children that I work with. I have made a sensory tortoise (with many pockts of differing tactile experiences as the shell) a rattle snake (obviously with rattles and noisy instruments within), egg whisk bell rattles, sensory trays and fiddle toys. I am always keen for new ideas in making resources for children with special needs so if you have made anything interesting please let me know.

I am very keen to try out a few new artforms or to use my current abilities in new and challenging ways. Bring on the Challenge!!

Hi! I am one of your partners for the List of 3-5 #2 swap - I sent my email on the 7th. Please let me know if you didn't get it so I can resend. Thanks!

rabbitsdream on Dec 1, 2010:

That is actually fine with me, everyone has to start somewhere and hopefully the ATC I make for you will be one of your faves! I will create a private swap for us.

rabbitsdream on Dec 1, 2010:

How about we just have a private swap for The Cat Returns. No one else really seems interested in my public swap so I think I am just going to delete it.

Hello from the comment swap :] I really enjoyed your swap. I really want to study abroad to Australia from my university because it seems like quite the experience. I always hear great things. :] How do you like the area? And I know this will probably sound pretty lame, but I LOVE to see how Australians spell! It always looks more eye catching and interesting and a little more fancy. :D
